Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Nursing Students School Programs Nursing Q/A

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Awesome! I just logged into the first class and it looks doable considering we get a 2 week break for Christmas. Only 3 APA due that I can see so far! Time to get busy now!

This is perfect! I can laugh about it now, but maybe not when class 3 starts :) So I am on the other end of causing stress this time around. First day of week 3 and my group member thinks we should all have our slides turned in for the CLC due week 5. I am all for getting things done in a timely manner but really? I am the only one who has replied to her request so far so I guess the others feel the same way I do.

I am working harder on my spanish and back in School..with good old Religion.....and not being a religious person....Lets just say its a different class...but still stuff one can find useful...

Welcome back Flames! I just finished religion and I thought it was going to be a really hard one for me because I'm not religious at all and the first week was mostly about Christianity. You can learn more about other religions in the other models. I found it that it was really interesting. We also covered burnout, compassion fatigue, and grieving. My friend who I was taking the class with realized that she is totally experiencing burnout while writing her paper. I think it is second favorite class so far! Maybe I just had a really good teacher...

Anyway, welcome back to GCU and AN!

No, no work as of yet and I have seen no message from her and many messages from our "leader". I will wait till tomorrow night and offer to do a power point page to help if necessary. Even though I have things planned and got my information in 5 days early I can't let the others suffer. I have time to do one or maybe two pages for them if need be. The other two will have to do the other three.

Just an update, I think everything will work out. I got a proof of the final project and it looks pretty good. Not how I would have completed it but good enough to turn in. I wonder how much arm twisting the editors had to do in order for the hold out to submit the slides she was assigned.

I only need to get 80% or better to get my 'A', otherwise I will settle with an 'A-'.

Is she the editor as well? Asking for the slides in week THREE is a bit unrealistic!

Those are the people that have no job, no kids, no elderly parents to care for, and have all the time in the world to jam out their assignments in a hurry and are trying to turn it into a 4 week class instead of a 5 week class so they can coast all through week 5. Wow that was a long sentence.

Is it bad that I'd rather read the instruction booklet for my new NuWave oven than do my homework?

Hey, you have to know how to cook your food! LOL.

I tell ya, when I got to trends and leadership, I hit a HUGE wall. My brain was sucked dry of any intelligence. I was a blubbering idiot. Pandora felt the same way. We were just tired of school and writing and had no idea what we could possibly say that was the least bit intelligent, lol.

I always tried to get most of my assignments in by Friday/week 5, so I had two days to ready myself for the next class, or sit in a darkened corner and turn off my brain until Monday.

Well, we'll see. My porkchops last night left a little to be desired, but it seriously could have been operator-error. The only things I've mastered in my lifetime have been Spaghetti-O's and Pop-Tarts. Oh, and the pizza delivery dude knows my name. Stay tuned!
