Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
Anyone working tomorrow? I am and I'm relieved I don't have to host a dinner. Free turkey at work :) Plus it should be quiet so I can do some homework. Crap I may have just jinxed myself.

I'm working too! I hope you haven't jinxed us all . I'm hoping to get some study time in as well.

Free? Sweet! We have to pay almost 9.00 for our meal. We are going to potluck it tomorrow and protest having to pay, so to answer your questions, I'm headed into work tomorrow. My treat will be stopping at Starbucks in the early morning for my Chai tea.
Dang, the word quiet was used. We are doomed! So..so..doomed!
It's 52 degrees here so I'm guessing the old farts are going to think they can play ball, and they will be in the ER c/o pain
I had an extremely boring day and spent it chatting with my co-workers instead of doing homework. Opps. We did have some excitement and a baby was delivered in the ED. We do not have a labor and delivery unit :)
That's pretty cool, a baby on Thanksgiving!
Our day was ok. ED was quiet and we had only one admit. I'm guessing nights will be busy after the gallbladders go belly up and the CHF'rs are full of fluid.

Now there's the sick nursing humor I love!
We almost became a Thanksgiving statistic here at our house, I mean, who squirts lighter fluid on glowing charcoals?? Seriously! Maybe since he thinks he's married to a nurse I should be great at putting him out or something? After I screamed at the 20 ft *poof* of flames and explosion, I yelled, "DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN! I'M NOT DRESSED FOR THE ER, I KNOW PEOPLE THERE!!!"

They are pretty much set up the same way with stuff due each week. Leadership doesn't have a CLC but Trends does. I know people have doubled with these classes. They were crazy busy, but they survived.
