Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Opps sorry. I waited until I was in the elevator leaving before commenting on how quiet our day was.

I'M NOT DRESSED FOR THE ER, I KNOW PEOPLE THERE!!!"

Oh Hell!!! This is sooo funny. That is when you go to another ER in town... Seriously, it happens. A month ago we had a ED nurse from a town 3 hours away show up in our ER with something firmly lodged where it shouldn't have been. He was shipped to our surgical department for sedation and extraction.

He said and I quote " I drove here because I could never have gone to my ED. I would never live this down."

Been the running joke at work for a month now. Only thing I could think about when you stated the above comment....

Hello all. My name is Sandra. Hoping to join in on this thread. I'm currently one week into Family Centered Health Promotion. If anyone has advice I would really appreciate it. Hope you don't mind if I have questions from time to time. I've read through both entire threads here which cleared up a lot of questions thus far. Sounds like it gets worse before it gets better, but I'm really enjoying the content so far. Hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. Now it's back to the books for me.

:wlcmhnds: Hello! You read all the way through both threads??

You get the prize! :nmbrn:

Welcome on in, and Q&A is one of the reasons we are all here, so bring it!

How did your first class go?

Now there's the sick nursing humor I love! :roflmao:

We almost became a Thanksgiving statistic here at our house, I mean, who squirts lighter fluid on glowing charcoals?? Seriously! Maybe since he thinks he's married to a nurse I should be great at putting him out or something? After I screamed at the 20 ft *poof* of flames and explosion, I yelled, "DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN! I'M NOT DRESSED FOR THE ER, I KNOW PEOPLE THERE!!!"

That's funny!! It would save on haircuts for awhile, hehe

I had a chest pain come in. You know you work in the country when the pt has chest pain while chasing a cow.

Did anyone else just interview their own family for the Family Health Assessment Interview paper (class 2)? I'm really not about to ask my friends about their family's pooping patterns or sex lives. Am I right here?

Yes, absolutely, I interviewed my mom & her husband, they answered all of my questions excepppppt "that one". I ended up just typing something like "interviewees are both beyond child bearing years so reproductivity was not addressed, and both politely declined to answer intimacy questions". It's not really something I wanted to know anyway! LOL

Well at least you did better than me, I am literally interviewing myself. Maybe I can teach myself something LOL!!!!
