Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
I'm glad I have stats and Spirituality behind me!! Well I hope Spirituality is behind me has he has not marked the last weeks stuff..mind u I'm shooting 99.8% right now,lol
I liked the stats prof I had, she was great, she pretty much did the Excel homework for you on her youtube videos. I'm fortunate my wife is a #'s godess, so she helped me out a lot, easy stuff for her, while I just wanted to punch the screen!!
Who did you have for stats? send me a PM. I started stats, I panicked and dropped out week 1. I have to take it, I'm trying to get all the help I can get. I'm doing Spirituality now too, I'm enjoying that class. Thank You

Well I am done with class 2 and I am taking a break until February because my son needs me. We ended up with another A for the CLC when I didn't think we had earned it. Do they grade easier on the CLC projects becaue of all the issues? Or am I really a type AAA?
Oh and can someone PM me the best stats and spirituality teachers? My co-worker just dropped out of GCU and is starting somewhere else because she was so irritated that her spirituality instructor wanted them to do peer reviews as homework. The more I hear about that class the more concerned I am.
Some profs mark very easy...my last group project..our PICO statement had nothing to do with the work we all did..I had emailed people in our group about that(I wasn't the leader) no 1 cared..and we still got a very good mark!!

She dropped gcu because of one homework assignment?
Spirituality is rather interesting abd I learned much. I had one very tough professor who was a picky grader. However I enjoyed the topic.
Sent you a pm
The peer review assignment was pretty easy! Except the person I got really putr the draft into draft, lol Almost 3000 words long..when it was suppose to be between 1250 and 1500......the set up was not even close to being correct, not sure what they were thinking, lol
I'm heading to correct a 2000 word paper myself after I post this message. Correct spelling etc....I don't think this assignment is that bad. I finally got compassion fatigue done except putting on a intro and conclusion. So all I have left in Spirit is the grief/Job paper. I got this one! Yeah!!!
I lost a whole 2.25 points the whole course, lol I like profs like that!!!
Thanks for all of the recommendations everyone. I feel better not going into these classes blindly. My co-worker made the peer review thing sound like it was all the class was about. She has dropped GCU and is going through Capella or something like that. She said they have online video lectures and the curriculum is more to her liking. She had only taken one class at GCU prior to spirituality as she already has a bachelors in biology, so she's not out too much money. Too each their own :) I am now almost done with 1 week of no school. I am going to soak up the freedom of the next 2 months like a sponge!
I'm in the last week of Health Assessment.... I've got to turn in an assessment of an adult, powerpoint presentation on a movie, 2 dq's, and 9 responses this last week? YIKES! Glad another 3 units are almost done, but IMO this is way to much work for 1 week. Are there more classes down the road that require so much work in 1 week? I sure hope not, adapt and overcome I guess...
