Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Great attitude Drodri555, nice determination. You are correct, it is a short time and the end result for you and your wife will be shared by the whole family.

Keep it up and don't let the day to day struggle bring you down.

Another back to back person here. Thankfully I had a supportive husband who did the vast majority of the housework for me. Now I'm paying with deep cleaning on my days off. ;)

You will get a two week break at Christmas time that takes the pressure off.

Welcome Drodri555,

This is a fabulous Forum. Hope that you and your wife have a wonderful and as uneventful as possible of a birthing of your next baby. I have been so blessed to be part of this forum. The wisdom here is unlike no other, along with the characters and attitudes.

Yeah, since this is virtual school, we had to create our own cool table where the cool kids sit! :rckn: Everyone else has a big "L" on their forehead. Poop on you, loser CLC nonparticipatory losers :cheeky: HA!

I'm in the middle of week 3 of the first class and I am losing my mind! I'd really like to speak with the person who came up with these group projects. The one we are doing is so simple, yet on 2 out of 6 in the group seem to have a clue, and another 2 are MIA. Did you guys inform your instructor when someone was MIA or did you just do their part? I have a feeling our instructor won't be much help as she in MIA most of the time too. I hope my next class goes better than this one.

1) How often does your instructor show up? If I remember, they have to show their face every 2 days, MAX. If you are seeing less of her, then complain.

2) Yes, I have complained about a MIA member of the CLC and yes, we also whipped out their part to cover ourselves. Do you have this persons cell number so you can call or text? I also would nicely call them out on the CLC itself and let them know it was noticed they were MIA. Finally, as a last ditch effort, facebook was the place to go to see if the person was still alive. I found one member that was lounging by the pool with a big ol smile on her face.rant.gif

Get used to them. BTW....I have horror stories, in fact all of us probably do. I'm looking at one right now that is making me nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof. I feel like something is not going to go down right on this one. I so hope I am wrong.

You will learn to do your part and someone else's it is just easier in the long run. I had one that wanted me (doing PPT) to do more slides than her, even though the only job she had was making assignments. I said no. The week came she handed in a commercial for her slide, I said not happening...no response, I emailed...nada, I texted....finally a response...that was her input. Sad thing (but good for me), I googled her slide the first article was a hit, took me 20 minutes to do the thing. Sheer laziness, and a lack of caring. These people know that there are those of us out there (who sit at the virtual cool table) that will pull their irons out of the fire because we would NEVER allow a poor project! Did someone say rant?
