Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
I do like the fact that we finish so quickly. My other classmates who went to the state school will finish a year after me! And I am SO glad I had a religion class already, I couldn't imagine doing it in 5 weeks! Kudos to you all!

I was able to move my class to later. So I will be back on the first day of the class :).
The school was very flexible before I started, I changed my start date a few times.
i am trying to decide between Grand Canyon University, western governors university, and university of phoenix (all online) for my bsn degree. they all sound like pretty great programs. its just so confusing to decide which one to choose.
I believe University of Phoenix is a lot more $$$, and there are people out there that don't like it..Was a huge thread about here on here long time ago.
Hard decision, so many options out there. I'm happy at GCU, doesn't mean you or anyone else would be.
Hello tokmom,
I have a friend that needs the spirituality sylllabus. Do you know where or how to find the syllabus to prepare for the class in advance?
I sincerely appreciate all of your helpful posts, even before I chose GCU. Your posts helped me to make that decision.
I have been told the Discussion questions and assignments can change.....I recall reading that 1 of my classes was going to have 2 group projects..and it only had 1.
Yes, Flames is right. There is another AN member about 4 ish classes behind me. What was a major power point for me (minimum 20 some slides) turned into a paper for her. So what I could find for you, very possibly won't be what she needs. Spirituality is a writing heavy class, but not difficult. They will do fine with or without prep. :) I hope that helps.
Hi mso819
I am also trying to decide between Grand Canyon univ and Western Governors Univ. It's hard to decide. Transcript eval at WGU was not so good that I will have to retake many GE classes, but much cheaper. However, Grand Canyon University I only need 36 credits but expensive. ;-(
