Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
He should have known something! Geez. They need to send you another link because somewhere in there, is where you order your pin if you want one.
Huh, I guess I'll have to try and find out some other way then. I didn't know you could get a pin. This is my third advisor and today was the first time I spoke to him. I miss the other 2 I had, they were very attentive, they would call me before and after a class started to see how I was and if I had any questions. Now I don't get any love from GCU:-(

Anyone should be able to help you, so call and get a general advisor. Have you tried email? I had a really good guy who was very attentive. It is frustrating when you don't hear back from them.
Check your student portal and those links to the left side, that have finances, documents, etc.. I was digging around and found a link to graduation. I may still have the link or someone here might to the graduation website and the pin. I know Pandora sent it to me, because I didn't receive it initially.
Hi Tokmom, Thanks for the teachers names and advice! I actually was looking forward to patho but then read how bad some of the instructors for it were. I just wanted to find a good instructor because it sounds like there is a lot of work for the class. Not too worried about it yet, but may change mind once I get there! =) Thanks also to Winterwhite28 for PM me some instructor names!Hey ewes! Prism...you funny!Glad to have converted another, lol. Like Prism said strap yourself in and hang on for the ride. You will learn a lot in this program, and be grateful you did so, when it's all said and done. Instructors: Yeah, no names, or GCU may hunt us down, hehe. Anyway, I think most instructors are fine and I think people get too wrapped up in moving their schedules around in hoping to avoid the crazy ones. What Pandora and I did was check out the announcements before the class starts and read what the expectations are of the class. This will clue you in on the APA Nazi's and very regimented ones that may drive you over the edge. Are you worried about Patho?
Some of those instructors teach more than one class, so you may see them again. We had a repeat instructor, but Pandora and I both liked her so we were good. She taught Patho and one earlier class.
The only downside of picking and choosing is the wait to get in their class, because they may not be teaching for another 2 weeks, or for a very long time. Of course we were in the head of the pack on AN so we had nobody to ask, lol. Ignorance is bliss and the Lord gave us a break, lol. Only a couple of interesting ones that we avoided!
Greetings Everyone,
I have a feeling I need to stay in touch with this blog for moral support.
GCU has been alright until recently, I have a feeling I might repeat my community and public health class. Has anyone had to do this and did you get the same instructor? Correct me if I am misunderstood but is there a way to request a specific instructor in this program?
Thank you all ahead of time.
Pressing ON!!

Hi NurseConnie! Welcome on in, plus there's another thread we visit (we seem to jump around between a few), when you have a free few hours you can catch up on the goings-on at : https://allnurses.com/nursing-online-distance/rn-bsn-grand-854234.html
I'm so sorry CH/PH is being a drag, why do you think you might need to repeat it? Do NOT not not not tell us your instructors name on here (friendly warning ) Yes, you can pick a different instructor, the college doesn't love to do it but they will, especially if you are repeating a class. But, here's the bummer - if you do repeat it, you can't use your work from your current class in the second class because assignments go through turnitin and you're not allowed to plagiarize yourself... So you will literally be doing all assignments twice, which I would think would be harder because if it came out of your brain one way the first time, it's likely to be similar the 2nd time! Do whatever you can to pass it the first time! Send the Instr a private message and ask if there's anything you can do at this point to fix things, or any extra credit (I doubt that though, the curriculum is pretty rigid), or re-do an assignment for a better grade?
