Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

I just need some clarification on what it means by "implementation methods for health promotion that encompasses all areas of nursing". Some of the questions they ask I feel are so vague and maybe I am overthinking it but just wondered if they are looking for how nurses implement health promotion or what? Thanks for any help!

That's exactly how I interpreted it -- how does a nurse implement this particular health promotion? What are we actually doing in Primary Prevention? I gave a specific example in each of the three categories. I always try to use the exact words from the rubric in my paper so the Instr can zero in on it and see that I addressed it (ex: "The nursing implementation method may include...blahdadeblah").

I think you're on the right track. I still don't know what 'encompasses all areas of nursing' means, but I got 100% on that paper so I must have hit it somewhere!?

Ahhh, another "over-thinker"... welcome to the CLUB!

Haha! I definitely am a member of that club! Thanks for the the input! That is what I figured but like you I have no idea what encompasses all areas of nursing means...

Maybe something that doesn't apply strictly to a certain nursing specialty?

I have been reading through the comments, so helpful. Am beginning at the end of this month, still sorting out my finances cause am gonna be paying out of pocket, any one just beginning this journey can join me and we walk together,

Welcome Kenaldo

I am in my forth class into the program. This has been the best place to be thus far. This community has been so beneficial and just such a blessing academically and with positive moral.

I believe you will do just fine. YOU are off to a great start just joining in.

Thank you so much for the encouraging welcome NurseConnie33, I believe I will be fine once I get to finish at least one class. Did you have to get any special software for the paper writing?

Not NurseConnie, but I had both PEERLA (for APA) and Grammarly for catching passive sentences, fragments etc.. PEERLA is only as good as the user, but it is very helpful and keeps all your references together, so if you need them again, all you do is click and add it to your paper.

Also not NurseConnie33, but will chime in and agree with the PERRLA and Grammarly. Also, if you're not a whiz with PowerPoints, I'd suggest playing around with the program. In the midst of your first CLC is a really crummy time to open it up for the first time! :grn: :twocents:

Where did you get those cool little guys? They are cute!

Oh yeah..back to GCU. Totally agree with Prism. Become very familiar with APA 6th edition, power points and Word. :)
