Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Tokmon,

I haven't heard many people talk about Family-Centered Health Promotion? How is it?

Thanks Paige. I promise I will stop asking questions but maybe not for a year lol xx

Not rn-centered, but pandorasbox and I have been in classes for 4 classes now. What do you want to know? We are set to take stats in 3 weeks.

Nursing research is not my favorite class ughugh

How many papers do you have over the five weeks?

Hang on and learn in this class as it will help you in your Capstone. Pick out your subject then and get your PICO done there as that is one assignment done for week one in Cap. Your on your downhill slide at this point! Good luck!

Yes it helps to use ur PICOT from the research class, but don't stress if you don't....I didn't, but I did use a subject that I had used in another 1 of the classes, which was nice as I already had a PPT done, lol I had over a year between research and Capstone....

For my 2nd anything class I have gone with HLT 317...which is a research class, lol it looks somewhat interesting though. I don't mind these classes as I can relate to them..in fact the research 1 has to do for the class is based on ur line of work......

Specializes in UR/CM, Managed Care.

I wouldn't recommend this. In fact, here is GCU's stance on self-plagiarism (see #3):

Academic Integrity Scenarios | Grand Canyon University

Google "submitting previous work considered plagiarism" and read the miscellaneous articles that pop up. It may have flown under the radar because ppts don't go through TII, but still, why chance it?

I had enough common sense to reword it......lot easier rewording things than all new material.

And what I do for my powerpoint is I do it on a MS Word document(then I make my PPT)....and then submit that word document to Turnititn..thus I have proof it is original and my work...

.

Oh Rob thanks so much!!

So I barely finished my first class and my adviser is leaving! :( Does this happen often? :wideyed:

I wouldn't say it happens often. But, I would not stress too much about it - you will get a new adviser, and most of them are helpful :)

I am on my third student advisor. All of them have been great and willing to help with my schedule changes when needed.
