Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Hi tokmom,

This is the first time I have posted in this thread but I have been reading and because of what you have all said I signed up with GCU and I am now 4 1/2 classes away from graduating with my BSN. So, Thank You for all your informative postings!

It seems that the classes may not be in the same order for everyone. I am in the Spirituality class now and I have Nursing Leadership and Management next on March 17. I was wondering if I could bother you and ask you to PM me the names of the teacher you are avoiding for the Leadership class and the teacher you are waiting for in the Capstone class?

Thank you:)

Yes She has been a life saver!!

I am in Spirituality right now too! 4 more classes left! I can't wait to be done. How is spirituality going for you? Is your instructor actually grading things?

She certainly has and I am extremely grateful:yes:

I feel like it's going fast but I am getting weary of going to school and I can't wait to be finished already. I have learned a lot from this program, lots of writing and reading. I have definitely improved my writing and I too purchased Perrla and use it for all my papers. I have to say that all in all I have liked this RN-BSN program. I'm very organized about all my stuff so it keeps things going very well.:)

You know, for some reason I feel like I am dragging myself through it. The teacher is so slow to grade things so that is disappointing to me. This is week 3 and I had to ask him last week in a diplomatic way if he had graded stuff or was I having problems seeing the grades and then he quickly graded the first week. I guess I'm not liking the way which this is being presented to us. The teacher barely interacts with us. He posts questions but hardly ever says much about what we post.

I am in week 4 of the class. I still don't have everything from week 1 graded. Weeks 2, 3, and 4 only have DQ1 graded. No participation has ever been graded. I have no clue how I am doing in this class. This week we are supposed to be reading a peers week 2 paper and correcting things. It is due Sunday and we haven't been assigned a paper yet. I only have Thursday and Friday off this week so I really need to get that paper ASAP so I can get to work on it.

Have you tried to ask this instructor if he could assign you the paper so you can get started? Let him/her know that you have to work?

That is just so annoying! Not very spiritually minded of them either! I bet they have a bunch of these classes they're minding and can't keep up with all the reading and grading.

I forgot to say that their school policy says they only have one week to grade each assignment, so he is violating that policy.

Oh wow, I didn't know the school policy said they only had a week to grade it. I have asked. She hasn't responded. People have been asking her weekly for grades. It is getting ridiculous. I cannot wait until the class survey comes up. She will be getting a poor review.

When in the classroom click Resources, classroom policy then choose after Oct 2013 go down to 3rd page where it says Faculty Commitment.

That is where all the rules are, maybe this teacher needs reminding? I remember my Statistics instructor getting defensive when asked about grades and he said that according to policy he had a week to grade stuff.

Thank you! That is so helpful! I know I have had an instructor comment about how long they had to grade things before. There are actually a few students encouraging the teacher to take longer. I find that just crazy.

You're welcome! I don't understand why anyone would want grades later:no:. I want my grades asap because if there is something I'm doing wrong, I need to have that information to correct myself for the next time. So, timely grading is reasonable, otherwise how are you going to have the chance to correct yourself? Also, we are paying a lot of money for this education and we deserve excellent service:yes:.

Does anyone have a suggestion on a theory model for the group project in professional dynamics? TIA
