Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Yes I think we all have to take NRS-451V, but I also have AMP-450V on my list of classes. The AMP-450V class is Leadership and vocation but know nothing about it. I once tried to look for a class summary but never found it. If it is an elective I want to make sure it doesn't have a CLC and it isn't a terribly intense class.

I was mistaken about 451v being elective, because my coworker I am going through program with doesn't need it. The AMP450 class can be subbed out for a getcollegecredit (website, ends in com) upper division test. My SA suggested the 'substance abuse' one. Then you don't need to pay tuition for a class or bother with DQ's and lazy classmates on a CLC. (I have no idea of 450V has a CLC or not).

aaiiiimmmeeeeeeeee, where are you?

What are you doing with all your free time??

Oh darn. I know I typed up a response to this, but I'm so I scattered I didn't end up posting it! I'm chipping away at my last class. Once I get some more free time I am going to SLEEP, read for fun, and spend more time with my SO before he starts grad school in the fall! I cannot wait!

I'm in AMP-450V right now. There is not a true CLC. In week one there is an assignment where you are supposed to "interview" a classmate. Our teacher had us all answer the interview questions and post in a special forum called the class forum. It was pretty easy. You are able to read the posted interviews and choose the one you like the most that way.

There is one paper where you need to attend a committee meeting of some sort in week 3. In week 5 there is a powerpoint due. So far, I am really behind in work, but it doesn't seem too difficult. I am not a cash student. I get financial aid and so many loans, so I don't have the option of testing out without messing up my financial situation. If I was a cash student I totally would test out because now that I am done with the capstone I have, like, zero motivation. I wish I would have taken this class sooner.

Oh, also, one thing I was talking to Flames about is this class is a 400's level, but I could have taken a 300's level class. I'm not sure, but maybe 300 level classes are easier.

I'm thinking I should have taken linear algebra because I think I would have found it more fun than leadership and vocation!

beccajean. One of my coworkers took the substance abuse one and said it wasn't bad.

AMP-450V Leadership and Vocation---- I'm suppose to take that after Capstone--wel 1 month later as I am taking a month off! Glad to hear it is a fairly simple class....being in Ecuador, not sure I can find a committee meeting to goto, lol I'm hoping to find a math class of some sorts to do...plus 1 other class...linear Algebra..have to look into that 1......time to finish up week 4 Capstone....questionnaire is pretty much done...throw in a quick powerpoint as well...not sure why, only worth 40 pts,lol but for some reason I enjoy them!!

Not all classes are offered all yr round..the substance abuse one..is one of those classes only offered at certain times..but prob would be an interesting class...walk the dog and finish up week 4

Becca,

I am in my last week of Leadership (tomorrow is last day). No CLC in this class but the last 2 weeks have the most boring assignments and this has to be my least favorite class next to statistics. I had a good teacher too. The material was just not interesting in the least.

This class solidified my lack of desire to ever be a manager.

I am trying to finish my PICOT question for the last week of Nursing Research and am looking for advice. Do others just put their name at the top of a word document then write your PICOT question in the middle? There has been no format provided on how it is to be completed. What did you do?

rob

I started with the title page and then the next page I wrote a paragraph stating why I chose the PICOT question that I did. Next, I stated the question, and then the last paragraph I put it in PICOT format. The format I chose was etiology and so I just kind of spelled it out in that format. Hope that makes sense. I wanted to do something besides just put the question on the page.

Sorry so late rob, you probably already turned it in! derk you definitely put more effort into it than I did LOL. I did do a title page with the usual on it, but page 2 was literally a title (PICOT Question), then I wrote the question out, then I did the vertical PICOT format. Done.
