Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
I don't need statistics but I DO need 36 GCU credits. So, I'm supposed to start NRS451 Nursing Leadership and Management next. Has anyone taken this class? Are there alternates? I guess I can call my SSA tomorrow but I'm thinking about it now, and it's Sunday. Also I've not been impressed with her ability to respond in a timely manner or have a knowlege base from which to answer questions. And you all are such a helpful bunch
I heard something about a substance abuse class that you just test out of, but I think that's on my course list for my last class (Leadership and vocation?). If there is another test out class (so I can decrease my tuition bill that much more) that would be awesome.
Well the big day has come and gone, and I won't do one of my too-long posts filled with details. Suffice it to say, the commencement ceremony was *A*W*E*S*O*M*E*. It was organized, impactful and meaningful, and everything you would expect in Pomp and Circumstance from a traditional 66+ year university. It was a sea of joyous graduates and happy supportive families. As we all filed out of the stadium, the president and faculty were all lined up in the lobby standing and applauding us as we all walked by, I think I cried a little! The campus is just beautiful and the weather was perfect. Finding Beauty in that sea of people was unbelievable, she made my day!
NOW I FEEL DONE! :grad:

Hi beccajean! I can't help with alternative classes, but I'm fairly certain that NRS 451/Leadership is one of the core classes (as far as I know we all had to take it). Leadership & Vocation sounds more like one of the alternative classes maybe?
I would keep on your SA, she needs to be clear with you about what classes are core and which ones are alternates. I've seen Flames post a link a couple times that has an enormous list of alternates, so see if your SA also has that list and can direct you. Those SA's purpose is to guide you and answer any/all questions, I was lucky enough to have 2 throughout my program that knew exactly what I needed to do and not do. If you're having issues and are not getting clear guidance, I would ask to be reassigned - the stakes are too high and you don't want someone telling you to take the wrong classes or classes that won't count when you get to the end!

Very good, I am happy for you. You have been helpful to us on the forum, as others have as well, so it makes me feel good that you experienced closure (I FEEL DONE!). It sounds like you were glad to walk for graduation, I don't think I will do this because my daughter will be graduating HS at the same time. I would like to have met others here on the forum to make it real for me but traveling to AZ at that time just wont be in the cards.
I hope you are getting some rest and have a little fun!

Yes I think we all have to take NRS-451V, but I also have AMP-450V on my list of classes. The AMP-450V class is Leadership and vocation but know nothing about it. I once tried to look for a class summary but never found it. If it is an elective I want to make sure it doesn't have a CLC and it isn't a terribly intense class. Looks like a call to my SA is in order sometime soon.
All of you grads--how long does it take to get your diploma in the mail? I will graduate just at the same time the new school year starts and when I want to be starting my job as a school nurse. How can I prove that I have graduated and have my BSN before I get my diploma in the mail? I may not actually have to "prove" it because I will be working for the same school district I work for now, but it would be nice to show them something that states I completed the program!
Thanks for the link....I watched it earlier, even though I did not have the time. I loved it, well until I started recognizing names!!!! KWmom....our crazy CLC lady was there!!! She looked crazy in person too! Beauty could have taken out my first - here's my junk fix it CLC team member - as she walked down the stairs with her!!! I was cheering and jeering it was amazing! I am so hoping it works out for me to go in October! Okay back to wrestling with the big mama!!!!

It was a very humbling graduation, and I always like the prayers and the Nightingale pledge.
I'm still so happy for you!!!
