Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
Just got offline with Thinking Storm and the stats assignment is correct. It is Thursday and I am finished with my stats homework and the discussion posts. What the heck am I going to do with the three days I have left this week? I know, spend it with my wife and daughter!!!! I will start on next weeks work though........ Just happy and wanted to share since I usually share negative thoughts....
I have a question or two about the assignment in Research. It's the Research Critique Part 2 and is a study focusing on protection of human participants. I want to use an article on childhood obesity, but the guidelines ask to identify the benefits and risks of participation addressed by the authors. I can't think of any risks since it was only a questionnaire and height and weight that were taken. Is it still okay to use this article? There are so many "action items" under the headings, it looks like it's going to be loads of fun to write this paper! Any thoughts about how to write manage this assignment? I want to use an article on childhood obesity since I think I will be developing my PICOT around that topic.

Here is a graphic that was shared with me...
Oh and you do have to address that in your paper, so if there is nothing then you need to state that or what exactly what you do have.
Ok so it will not post...
Meta-analysis
Systematic Reviews
Randomized controlled trials
Cohort studies
Case control studies
Case reports/Case series
As you move up from the bottom to the top there is stronger methodology, less bias, controls for comparison then at the bottom is fewer studies.
The top two are considers cream of the crop. HTH.
I have an excellent teacher, one that I have had in the past. She not only writes new stuff in her posts, but actually gives real feedback in her comments on corrected assignments. But here is a question to the instructor: Week 3's assignment which covers reflection of the IOMs point 4, 5, & 6 and someone asks if they need to just do one of the points or all???? This is a basic assignment which states explain how you fit into point 4, 5, yadayadayada, no hidden anything. Sigh....Drama.drama.drama every day in the CLC, I would be happy to make it to week 5 to have that done, but oh yeah week 5 I start week 1 of Cap! Eeeek!!!
What is making me happy today....48 days and counting!
Typical nurse drama even at Gcu..smh
I am in pathophys doing the CLC project. there is two parts for this assignment, a essay and a dialog. Has any of you guys done that class already? I am confused on the dialog part. How long it has to be? do i just write like I am talking to the patient explaining her condition and providing teaching just like a discharge planning?
I wrote ours like a play:
Nurse Nancy: Sallie Mae, I see your pupils are pin point your speech is slurred. Did you empty your bottle of Percocet again?
Sallie Mae: I need dilaudid, nurse...I'm in sooo much pain (slumps over onto couch).
We got dinged for not enough give and take during the conversation, so make sure Sallie interjects often
Help! I took an almost 6 month leave and I forget how to access my books online! I've got a paper copy of the previous edition that I've been using, but wanted to do a search. I'm downloading the book onto my comp now, but can't figure out where to go online to access. Elsevier? I can't believe I forget!
