Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Glad I have the prof I do for Trends..best prof yet!! Actually have had real discussions for the 1st time, people thinking outside the box and not just agreeing on everything. has made it an enjoyable class. And so far the CLC is coming along

I have an excellent teacher, one that I have had in the past. She not only writes new stuff in her posts, but actually gives real feedback in her comments on corrected assignments. But here is a question to the instructor: Week 3's assignment which covers reflection of the IOMs point 4, 5, & 6 and someone asks if they need to just do one of the points or all???? This is a basic assignment which states explain how you fit into point 4, 5, yadayadayada, no hidden anything. Sigh....

Drama.drama.drama every day in the CLC, I would be happy to make it to week 5 to have that done, but oh yeah week 5 I start week 1 of Cap! Eeeek!!!

What is making me happy today....48 days and counting!

Ur fortunate that ur allowed to start capstone while in trends..my adviser stated not allowed, and that she checked with the supervisor. Doesn't really matter to me, as I don't work, so nothing but time..but I found it odd as I told her I knew others from my FB group that have been able to do it. And Im after a different prof than you are. And I may do my 2 "other" classes first.

Will do reflection paper today..ours doesn't care if u go over on words. This is the 1st prof I have had that does her own DQs.

I assume our CLC is going well, lot of communication on our forum and everyone has agreed to have done by Monday......

I'm looking for Trends instructor recommendations, Patho as well. I have one for Trends and 2 for Patho. Can some of you share?

I've made my request for Leadership but if that doesn't work out, I'm going for one of the other two. I'm just trying for Leadership first so I don't have to do a CLC in my next class!

I am in pathophys doing the CLC project. there is two parts for this assignment, a essay and a dialog. Has any of you guys done that class already? I am confused on the dialog part. How long it has to be? do i just write like I am talking to the patient explaining her condition and providing teaching just like a discharge planning?

Yes, maybe. Maybe I am liking this too much, I am loving the Khan Academy videos!!! I have watched many of them more than once. I really want to get this down but like usual I think I am diving too deep into the material. So it interests me, something has to...

I am finding I like the Khan videos better too. Maybe it is more personable, or they show you the formula and speak engrish along with it, not all math-ese. Either way..... they help and that is what matters.

Glad Mr is gone for 2 weeks while I wrap my head around how best to learn in this class. Have been going to bed listening to stats videos, hoping something will sink in subconsciously as well. Not sure he would appreciate the ipad and headphones. LOL

Isn't that interesting? All those videos did was twist my brain into a pretzel, I had to turn them off. This reminds me of that VARK paper, I learned so much about different people's learning styles and what works for some just doesn't work for another. I'm so glad you and Rob found them helpful, I wish I had! :blackeye: :blink:

Hey Flames I'm doubling up week 5 of Patho with week 1 of Capstone. I know my advisor tried to tell me that I couldn't double up and I had to remind her that I pay cash! Then she made it happen.

I'm paying cash as well....I have told her multiple times that others have....supposedly she checked with her supervisor and 1 other person and she keeps telling me it is 100% not allowed! I have asked how is it possible I know others that are and have been doing it? I really don't want to push it too much in case that is the rule and then they investigate it...and those like urself that are doing it, get bumped out of that class. I don't work, so I have time and I may have to go back to Canada soon anyways..and I'm not doing any classes if I have to go back. I just hate it when they say nope,100% not allowed, when in fact others are doing it!

I understand Flames, but that is crazy how 1 person says one thing and another says something else. But hey it might be a blessing in disguise.
