Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

I am about to do that CLC. I know there are a couple of go-getters in our group, but so far I feel like I need a cattle prod even with them. Come on people.....do you not see the vast amount of work that needs to be done??

*sigh*

Which class is this?

all depends on the prof......I forget which class--prob best I don't say,lol But I work did not really match the objective of what was suppose to take place......1 other guy immediately took charge..good for him...but very poor leadership..I had sent our numerous emails stating our work did not match what was suppose to take place.....of course they ignored me..which is fine, I knew the prof marked very easily, so why fight it.....We got like a 92%....in my current class 1 gal did nothing..she never made much of an attempt to do anything......easy project though.....so does 1 waste time with that slacker...or spend that time on the project? Spent it on the project..less stressful, lol

Don't wait any longer to contact the instructor to verify what needs to be done on the project. I got a response today and it was what I was expecting, but it could have easily gone a different way. You are correct, there is a lot to be completed before the assignment is done.

I always do my best but I wont stress over a 92%. Heck, I would gladly take a 85% now so I don't have to think about it again. Once again, I am at the end of my rope.

Well it was not a 92% powerpoint! Just lucky the prof was nice! My advice..keep everything on the school page--so the prof can see that YOU are trying!! If after awhile, you just have to assign tasks..nothing, then one has to head to the prof and say hey...no support from my numpties!!

People in these groups "should" (thats funny) that not everyone has the same schedule..family size, etc etc! All it takes at the beginning is to say "hey I work Mon-Thurs, so I'm busy, etc, etc" Just common courtesy......but many lack that!!

This isn't just great advice for me, it is for everyone effected by the dreaded CLC Assignments.

I am back wanting to take charge of the assignments again. At least they would be organized.

Exactly! Yes, there always seems to be one slacker in every group. My biggest grip is that you can see them posting to the discussion forum, yet they do not post on the group forum to even acknowledge they have read the updates or changes. Do they not think we all can see that?

......I digress.........

Last group we had one who not only slacked in communication, but when she was called out for not doing her topic correctly - actually did someone else's topic, and a 'patient care plan' (whatever the heck that was!), rather than a nursing care plan, argued she did what she was supposed to. Two of us picked up and did the slides so the presentation was complete.

We kept all communication on the forum for the specific reason the prof would know. I would even put a note on the forum that I had texted everyone to check for updates. Now get this.....I am living in Australia and texting group members to look for updates. Really?!?!

Ok...... off my group soapbox for a week or so. LOL

This is sooo funny. The same thing happened to me last class. She said that there were too many posts and couldn't figure out which one she needed to read for her assignment.....

LOOK FOR THE BLUE FORUM TOPIC MARKED "POWER POINT ASSIGNMENTS" AND READ IT!!!!!

It was so funny. Another classmate sent me a message stating how full of crap she was, it was the most organized project she has seen yet.

I am glad that there is always one in my group that has similar interests as me. I have not been alone yet in a CLC project, but the day may come.
