Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Maybe they are slowly getting rid of the CLC projects..doubt it, but would be nice, lol

Well...I know that every course eval I completed, I mentioned that the CLC projects should die a slow and painful death.

Going to fill out my course eval this weekend, I am not going to be so nice. Going to say something like "Students that should fail ride the coat tails of the people that succeed," "only thing I learned is to never be project leader again". May throw in some sentence enhancers as well....

Bitter right now? Naaaaaaa....

CLC are the flavor of the month in many programs and I hear the same thing from my coworkers. One friend of mine drive two hours to confront a slacker member.

I might as well chime in about my CLC. I usually can't predict the future, but I can already see that this CLC is looking a lot like my last one-- SLOW!! The project is due next week and the CLC Agreement is only filled out by half of the members :( I have good intentions by starting it early and encouraging everyone else to do the same, but to no avail. I assigned my tasks and said I would have one of them done by tomorrow and submit it to them. This is a big project-week 4 of Community Health, I'm sure you all remember that one! With week 5 project taking up most of my time, I want to get this CLC done and out of my hair.

Wow, driving two hours to confront a slacker member-crazy!!

Okay, that would be worse! Face to face, I do not like confrontation! Hahahaha coming from an ER Case Manager!

"Hi, I'm Prism, you know, the one from the Red Forum that has left you 16 posts, 9 text messages, and 4 emails about your part that was due yesterday? I see you're home, which means you can do it now, I'll be out in my car, let me know when it's ready. Thanks."

PRICELESS.

This co worker has some big ones, and I'm sure the approach wasn't too far from your description, lol.

Interesting...

Got an email this morning from AN, advertising Chamberlain's MSN and dnp programs. Obviously they are hearing the grumbles of students, because clear as day, in their ad, it says "No Group Work" :roflmao:

Maybe Chamberlain is the way to go, lol

I would really, and I mean REALLY like to think someone who is in an MSN program is a bit more serious about their CLC. :sniff:

Silly me, I thought the same thing about professional nurses working and returning to school for their BSN in an attempt to better themselves. Something makes me believe that we might be both wrong.

Chamberlain for MSN? Let me get through GCU first...... :)
