Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
A coworker also said Patho isn't bad. I switched to have Trends first so I could have the instructor she recommended for Patho and will double up 2 weeks with Trends and Patho. Hoping it's not too crazy during those 2 weeks!
I liked patho because it was refreshing, lol. I also had one of my favorite instructors...right Prism? Hehe
Okay winterwhite, I just solved part of the mystery behind those DQ replies on the front page that never go away (when it says you have 4 unread posts but can't find them). Yesterday I must have had too much coffee, because I was just posting away and then realized that DUH, I should save at least two of them for today, so I can for sure get all my 3 calendar days' worth in. Cause ya never know, I could get hit by a truck or something. So, I went back into the forum and copied/pasted my reply back out to a Word doc to save for today and then deleted my posts. When I went back out to the front page, they were still there! But, when I clicked on the Read More link, it takes you nowhere (because they were deleted by me). Today I went back in and reposted them as Sunday's replies, and sure enough, inside the forum it has today's date and 0900-ish this morning, but when I go back out they're still there with yesterday's date/time on them! I hope I still get credit for them for Sunday? I better do two more just to be safe. But anyway, now we know, when a students deletes their posts, they still show up as unread with the initial posting date!
I'll avoid her class, lol Sorry--but I hate the boring crap people post on DQ's.....all very robotic..no personality at all in their posts!! Everyone is good job,,great post..blay blah blah! I try to put some life into my posts, and I'm sure many don't like that either! I won't miss DQ's at all
Thought I would post an update to my nightmare CLC project handed in today. I had a mini-me (or maybe I was her mini-me) in class and we did a lot of the assignment. I fielded 28 emails from our trouble maker within the last two days before the deadline to submit the information. On the due date she sent me an email that states "I am going to need you to help me start the final slide because I don't know what to write and you are the team leader". She was a day late and I had to rewrite two of her slides (mini-me rewrote the other).
The last member also didn't read the assignments and submitted to me information that she was not assigned to complete. She was also not happy because I asked for a revision. The two with problems blamed the numerous threads and the inability to communicate on the group forum for the wrong information. I spent great time starting a thread for every part of the project (Welcome, Discussion on the outline, discussion on the slide assignments, slide assignments, CLC updated agreement, CLC reminders, Completed project for approval, Project submission). Oh brother, and I had to research and rewrite the references for both ladies. OMG, they were not even close to correct.
Someone remind me not to ever be the group leader again. On the other hand, how do I ask future instructors that I want to be teamed up with mini-me? I think even she would agree that just us two could do a better job quicker than a full team.
That was my post, I think, but maybe I didn't say it right - I LIKE this instructor simply because she IS putting the smackdown on some of the nonsense that plagues those DQs. Like you Flames, I get irritated at the fluff people post, trying to make it sound like they understand when they really are just regurgitating something they found on line. I spend a lot of time on my DQs as well as my replies, and when I'm done I actually feel like I know more than I did when I started (which, um, I'm purty sure is the whole point). This lady isn't allowing that, when someone tries to post a blah blah, she hooks onto their post with a ton of questions that forces them to actually learn what they tried to get away with and obviously dont' know. I appreciate that, I'm a little tired of people getting points for thoughtless replies. Oh, and I agree with you Flames, I don't think I've EVER posted something that didn't have a personal story attached! I'm sure there are people that cringe (and no longer even open mine), but so what - I'm relating real life to the subject, and the instructors seem to like that. So THERE all you robots!
