Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
I have had the options of working in places that don't require holidays, however, I don't like the politics in those places, so I have avoided them. I have worked in healthcare since age 18, so I'm very used to working on holidays. I console myself with the money that I will make. I have thought about case management, but the thought of working five days a week sends shivers down my spine!Enjoy your holiday!
Yeah, I lucked out. There isn't much politics where I work. I kind of wanted to work on a floor where I worked holidays and nights for extra pay. Here holiday pay is double time. But while going to school I like the 5 days a week thing. Once I get my BSN I am thinking about transferring out to ICU or something.
Hope you shift was quick...
I'm in my second week of patho, class #10. I am getting burned out. Can't wait until we get 2 weeks off for Christmas.
What is your class #11? Patho is my #11, I start 12/15. Yeah, tell me about the CLC please, `cause I mistakenly thought I was DONE with those but apparently Patho has one
Can anyone recommend a good movie to use for week 5 assignment in Health Assessment? This is the one where you do a health assessment on a character from one of the movies listed. I am not really into movies so I am not familiar with any of the choices. I can hardly think straight right now, I'm recovering from a nightmare of a CLC project! I knew I would have one sooner or later, but really didn't want it during the holidays. Right as I'm stirring the turkey gravy I get a text asking what their part is in the project(and it's due tomorrow). I know you have all been there so I don't feel so bad!

I did Steel Magnolias, the disease process featured is diabetes. I picked it because I love all the actors in it and diabetes is so prominent these days (although the movie character has juvenile onset type, not type 2, but still tons of info out there). "DRANK THA JAUICE SHAELBAYYY!!!"
I watched Mask last weekend just cause it was on TV and all I could think of was alllll those dang ppt's I read on that movie LOL.

So, regarding CLC:
a) what the heck?? How can they not know what they're doing? Did they participate at all in the color forum for the past 3 weeks or were they MIA and you jsut assigned them something?
b) this person took the time to go through the color forum and click open enough things to find the CLC agreement to find your cell phone number, but couldn't be bothered to read the post about who has what part?
Honestly. I don't know what is wrong with people.
derk I just looked back at that CLC for HA, we did Sickle Cell. That was probably the worst CLC I've had yet, we ended up firing a team member. She just kept submitting cr@p and by the 4th submission on Saturday morning I was just over it (I was TL) and told her nevermind, you're done. Sent the instructor a giant long individual message that had all the slides attached that she had turned in (to prove they were cr@p and unusable) and told her we fired her and we would be doing her part. Texted the other 3 and between the 4 of us we did her part between Saturday night & Sunday morning and turned it in without her name on the title slide. It was that CLC that burned me for all CLCs to come

Makes me wonder what HER grade was...

Before nursing I taught preschool/daycare out of my home. All my clients were teachers. And I made more $$$ than I do as a nurse. It was great but my kids grew up and we wanted our whole house back.
