Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
How long are you going to hold out before you post? I guess you can't nominate anyone if nobody else had posted!
Another day goes by, color forum cricketfest continues... and we all did our 2 replies today, so we're all here, posting, just avoiding the elephant in the room. I'm going to wait until Saturday morning, `cause the CLC agreement is due Sunday. If no one has posted and it is due in 36 hrs, I'll just do the dang thing. The sick part is, the instuctor waited so long to post teams, that the project itself is literally due 12 days from now (a whole whopping 14d span from posting teams to final submission). I'm 1/2 way through week 3 of this class, and it's due on Sunday #4. Doesn't give us a lot of time. Why, oh why can't I be on a team where all 5 of us have already posted and said, "dang, we have less than 2 weeks and I ain't workin' over the TG weekend, so let's get on this bugger!" ?? Never happens for me.
Oh, and the blank CLC template that she posted in our forum only has all those usual questions like why is it important, what are you gonna do if someone doesn't turn their stuff in, yada yada. The part where you assign people for specific tasks is missing? So, because I'm psychic and I have a crystal ball, here's how this is gonna go:
Saturday: Hello? Anyone here? Oh. Okay. Guess not. Well I guess I'll fill out the CLC agreement and submit it? Okay, still nothing, I'll go ahead and do that.
Sunday: Oh my gosh I've been working all week, thanks Prism for doing this! It looks great! I nominate you to be our team leader! (times that response x4, exactly 5 minutes after I post that I've submitted it).
Monday: Um, hello, you guys? Are we going to assign parts? This thing is due in 6d and we haven't even talked about it...
Tuesday:
Wednesday: Seriously people, this isn't funny, I'm not doing this whole thing by myself!
Thursday: I HATE YOU ALL.
Friday night: One or two bits come in, and they're awful.
Saturday: The other two come in, and they're worse.
Saturday through til Sunday night (marathon, no sleep): Me, taking bits and pieces from everyone's submissions, fixing references, deleting all the stuff copied/pasted from the internet, adding speaker notes to those they left blank, deleting all the duplicate stuff because ppl didn't read their part right and did someone else's part, creating the missing parts, sending out texts that no one answers, and submitting by 11:00p.
11:01p: Post in color forum that it's been submitted.
11:02p: This looks great!!! Thanks for all your hard work everyone, I think we did a great job!!! (x4)

Just do it! It's your last one and make all their parts due no later than Thursday by 8 pm PST. At 8:01 post anyone's part not handed in to the color forum by 11:00 pm PST, I will be recommending to the instructor no participation points. My last group someone did not hand in on time I posted what does the team want to do and within 5 minutes the girl texted me and posted in the forum that she would have it posted when she got home from work. Threats work. I hope that doesn't make me cynical or anything...Bhahwaaaaaaahaha
Anyone working on turkey day besides me?
Nope, surgery is closed over the holidays. The call crew will be there but not I, a benefit of being a newbie and not part of the call crew.......
Sorry you gotta work, I was really looking forward to working holidays being a new nurse but I was lucky to get the position I have.... Really good benefits.....

I have had the options of working in places that don't require holidays, however, I don't like the politics in those places, so I have avoided them. I have worked in healthcare since age 18, so I'm very used to working on holidays. I console myself with the money that I will make. I have thought about case management, but the thought of working five days a week sends shivers down my spine!
Enjoy your holiday!
One of the "perks" of working as a school nurse is the extended holiday vacations!! I personally think it is too much time off, but nobody asked for my opinion! (I do work summer school so I don't technically have the whole summer off) I am taking advantage of it this school year and going to double up on some classes. If my calculations are correct, I will finish this program earlier than expected!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

I would love to work as a school nurse! Sadly the pay is dismal in my area. I would literally have to take 50% pay cut.
