Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
I finally came to terms with this class last night. Couldn't sleep because all the thoughts running through my head. I got up and read the first weeks assignments. Came home from work (which was bad because I had little sleep) and worked on my first two discussion topics and one response. Did the Vark questionnaire and cut and pasted the results for future reference. Funny thing is I did the Vark questionnaire in nursing school as well. I find that it fits me pretty well.
Thanks for the advice on the interviews for the final two papers. I will do just that. I think I have determined who I will ask and hopefully they will play along. Not really close to others at work but I do think there is mutual respect which should prompt a little help.
Question on the Vark Paper: It specifically states "Although the topic of this assignment refers to your individual learning style, avoid the use of first person tone (words such as, "I, we, our") in your essay", so how did you overcome using I, we, our. If I remember from English I can talk about myself in the third person or call myself the author. i.e. "the author scored a 9 in the visual learning category..." Any thoughts on how to get around this..... Maybe I should have taken another English comp class before starting at GCU.
Cool thing is I am on low census (baring a mass-causality event) so I want to complete the paper tomorrow.

Yeaaahhhh, First person "I", "me", etc is a big no-no at GCU. One time (one glorious time) in this whole program did we receive permission from the instructor to write in FP, I forget the paper/class now, but I was like a kid in a candy store with all my Me's and I's, WooooHooooo!
So the short answer to your question is, there are really only 3 options:
"This writer scored a 9 on the..."
"This author scored a 9 on the..."
"One scored a 9 on the..."
Writer, author, one. That's about it chickidoodle!
I actually write more professionally and clearly with a bit of wine. I am not sure why? I would go ahead with your plans for surgery.... from what I gather overall, the program is forgiving. Let your instructor know of course. But as we work, stressed, tired.. we can not be EVEN everyday. This is not a career where you can count on any day to be even remotely the same. I don't know what you are having done but take good care!

I hope that "one time" was Ethics! I just finished a paper which was referring to "my" moral compass. A lot of ME in that paper
Mother..... Crap..... Son of a ........ !!! Don't mind me I just blew a gasket. I was so looking forward to having one easy week and you just had to ruin it for me!The first week there is a paper due so no rest for the wicked.
Well, you were right of course. I looked at the syllabus and there is an assignment and it is a CLC project. Why do the gods hate me so? Going to play this CLC cool and sit back for a while. It hasn't been addressed yet....
waiting.....
The cool thing is I did an assignment in nursing school about Healthy People 2020 so I will need ot go back and dust that baby off.
You have to choose one of the popular diseases that HP 2020 talks about. Fingers crossed your paper works for you.

I doubt that I will be able to use the paper (even though GCU will want a power point) over again, that would be just too lucky. What I can use is all the research, articles, and websites that I found the first time in writing the necessary pages. I learned during the second semester of nursing school to keep everything..... I have so much information just hope we studied healthy people 2020 after the first semester.
