Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

I've requested instructor changes about 3 times already and have had no issues. It's a simple call. If my counselor wasn't available then I chose the option to speak with any available counselor and got what I needed in a matter of minutes!

I'll bet your counselor's knew the difference between a subsidized and unsubsidized federal loan!

And you did not have to explain it to them!

Me or pinkpetunia? I was just responding to what pinkpetunia said in a previous post. I love being aged to perfection!!!!

:sneaky:

LOL, Rob, there isn't anything wrong with being aged to perfection!

The post was directed to Pink, but I quoted you because I liked what you said.

Sounds like your take on you being the guinea pig for a new counselor is dead on. Sorry you got stuck with a crappy one. Hopefully you will be able to switch quickly.

Nope, didn't talk loan stuff really. Just filled out a FAFSA and what other financial information I had to do. Same agonizing stuff I do for my kids.

If it makes you feel better, all three of my kids have financial aid problems. Lost paperwork, sent to wrong dept or their loans were delayed for 3 months leaving us to scramble the cash for books and housing.

Thank you for your understanding. I have the name of one counselor that I have heard excellent things about. Please PM me if you can share the names of any others that you were especially pleased with. I am patient and I did stick with it, so it isn't as if I am being reactionary. Just need someone with a decent knowledge base and comfortable to talk to on the phone.

On a lighter note: Do you ever reach the day your nursing shoes are not meeting your needs... they hurt, the structure is gone?

I ordered new shoes black and tan.. today.. way way overdue!! hey hey!!

Yep, I'm there now. I need a new pair. I replace once a year or so.

Just turned in my final assignment for Professional Dynamics and just about had an AMI. On the GCU open page before Loud Cloud stated that Professional Dynamics was a recent course, not a current course. Did I miss an early due date on the assignment???? Holy Cow!!! :arghh: Please Nooooooo!!!!!!

Whewww!! It accepted my assignment. Didn't see anything about an early due date. :sarcastic:

Still waiting on her to grade last weeks paper. Was fairly proud of it, wanting a little vindication that I am succeeding...

Now that I am completed with the first class I wanted to share that the instructor not once responded to any discussion post or gave much of any feedback on assignments. So did I do that good of a job that I was beyond reproach or was she not an active teacher? :cheeky:

Your class will move over and not show as current, because the new one will move in. What is your net class? Once I took PD it literally fell off the list of classes.

No, your instructor wasn't very hands on by the sounds of it. My PD wasn't very talkative in the classroom either, but the other ones sure made up for it by asking me specific questions in the DQ forum. I hated it when I would see Tokmom... I knew I couldn't ignore it and it usually involved me doing research for the answer. :yuck:

All my classes are on the "net"..... :nailbiting: Okay that was a stupid joke...

My next class is Family-Centered Health Promotion. Looking over the class I see no CLC and no assignment due the last week of class. Bad thing is there is a paper due the first week.

This instructor seems more hands on so far, but nothing that makes me nervous.
