Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
Still struggling with paperwork confusions. Apparently everything has been routed incorrectly.
It is making me question the organization of the school. Will the instructors be as disorganize?
Will they answer my questions? I have one last thing to get taken care of. I will wait one week.
If it does not happen, I have to say, I have a bad feeling in my gut.
This is very contrary to all you have said. Also, I have several co-workers who have not had this
experience. I would like to go to this school as I have all of you and several friends for support.
But, if there are any further glitches with my transcripts.. I have to say.. something is amiss.
Lol. I really don't know how that happened. I did not understand the material but got 100% every time. Fake it until you make it right. Lol. I did not ready any book. I only used google when replying to qd. The excel work was easy as my teacher had YouTube videos showing how to do them. The workbook was the one annoying. The first one I was very lost and remember feeling frustrated. Then I looked at the sample in the workbook to understand what it was asking and how to get the answer. That helped me a lot.Feel free to PM me for help if needed.
My next class is ethics. What should I expect?
Ethics wasn't bad. It's ethics so most of it is your opinion. The downside is a 2 parter clc where you have to agree on a ethical dilemma. That can be rather interesting if three of you agree and one of you doesn't and *that* person doesn't want to budge on their mindset.
Or....you can have a clc like Prism where the other members never thought it was important to agree on the subject in the beginning.
Just wait till Stats when sometimes DQ 2 doesn't start getting filled in until Friday! By the time you get to classes 2 and 3 people are posting on Monday both DQs, then you hit stats and crickets (not a peep). But for me, research, people are back to posting on Monday for both DQs so by Wednesday I'm mostly done with responses, unless someone posts something really interesting that I must say something about (not this week, yawn!)
VERY true! I would wait until others posted to see if my response sounded like the others, lol. Of course the know it all people would respond and pretty much call others idiots if they didn't get it correct. Geez, I don't miss that class!

Three kids at three different state schools and all three had frequent issues with classes, and especially financial aid. Not pretty. I don't trust ANY college to get it right.

For that massive CLC in ethics, I didn't realize why it was important to get everyone on the same opinion page. When I went in after the editor did the first round of editing, I realized there were 4 different opinions on euthanasia in there. I ended up just tweaking everything the best I could into a similar opinion, and called it a day. No one seemed to notice. "Looks great, thanks for your hard work," was all they said in the forum. :roflmao:
Kind of like the outpouring of angst with school. I know, I know... this is a very good school
When I did a cardiology rotation I was told it was horrid, the instructor was extremely mean..
had zero problems even tho I was about to develop a stomach ulcer..
no ulcer, loved the instructor.. all was very good.
Took me some time to catch up on posts!
I am the polar opposite of many of you. I post my DQ responses on Wed and Friday and evening, often around 10 pm. I usually fulfill my participation posts on Saturday and Sunday, and only one class did the instructor mark me down on participation points.
I am finding the assignments in Stats reasonable. I have the tutor correct them for me, and I've been scoring well. The DQ questions aren't horrible, but responding to peers is more than horrible. I struggle the most in this area.
Like others have mentioned, I am a bit obsessed with my grade reductions as well. I was marked wrong on a multiple choice question in last weeks Stats assignment, and was scored 86/90. The Instructor then praised my assignment and my ability in the class. All I could think about is how the instructor could offer praise and think 86/90 was an excellent grade.
I'm going to be requesting a 60 day leave from GCU after I complete Stats in 2 weeks. I'm buying a house and plan to move around Thanksgiving. I just don't see how I could possibly handle that and school, and on top of work. I'm pretty excited to move back into a house though, my 4 kids and I have been crammed into an apartment for the past 3 years.
