Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

What the heck, a failing grade?? I would want to throttle that tutor!!

You should have told her to take get victory and shove it.

I found that the tutor sessions I would get different answers. What helped was that on day one all the tutor sessions were taken and I was directed by my counselor to use Thinking Storm (free 10 hours every year). I went to those sessions with my papers completed, and they would work every single problem with me. Sometimes it was a matter of "it's correct" and move on to the next question, and others they would show me how to do the problem. When I was done with those sessions I would clean up the notes and post and I never lost a point. I did start using the regular tutor at GCU but would always have Thinking Storm check it....there was more than one time that the tutors were wrong. Thinking Storm rocks!

Did they explain so you understood? Is thinking storm part of gcu or independent?

I am going to start my orientation week this week, begin class the following week, 10/20. For the most part issues are resolved. I believe this will take me right up to the holidays. I have downloaded PEERLA. Looked at some webinars, etc... I am a bit skard about riding down the canyon on Fred, but other than that, good to go!

Just hang on tight. Fred knows where he is going..

So the English issue is resolved?

The english issue has not gone thru appeals yet. At least paperwork has been handled.

I am excited and scard!

The support here is more than I have ever had...I am so thankful. Thank you all!

Of course you are! I think all of us felt that way. I know I did. I remember that first day of Gcu When I logged on, and the fear of writing that first paper. I have come along way and learned so much and you will too!

Yes I always used Thinking Storm as well. They were super helpful. My instructor was the issue. Never gave any pointers or offered help of any kind. If it hadn't been for the advice I received here it would've been much worse.

Tell me about it. This is why I stick around trying to help others. Pandora and I had to blaze the trail because those that had gone to gcu and graduated mysteriously disappeared and there was nobody to ask advice about instructors, classes and the dreaded capstone.

It was rather hairy at times, lol.

And you will never understand how appreciative we are.

BTW, Fred is my burro, please assign alternate burros to other fellow students.... :roflmao:

Well that's a no brainer. ;) thinking positive here.

Wish I was nearing completion so that I could join other type A personality people and get the CLC projects completed correctly, efficiently, and early in the week..... All positive here!!!

CLC Update PEEPS......

Of course it was submitted last Sunday with only 4 members (and me) that voted to submit it as is. I did go through and rewrite most of it and applied quotations as well as correctly referenced everything. I estimate I spent over 16 hours completing it. Many slide I cam up with new text as well as wrote full notes. I may have completely produced 3 slides myself from the information that was submitted.

Anyway, got the grade today...... 99%. Please tell me that it was an individual grade not one shared by the group.

I just turned in the paper due today which was wayyyyyyyy over the required length. How can you write about a 400 page report on the future of nursing and keep it within 750-1000 words?

It is a cool-rainy day here at the homestead, maybe some snow tonight. House to myself this afternoon. trying to figure out if I should brew another pot of coffee or blend some margaritas.... Maybe I will start by building a fire and watching a couple Law & Order SVU's I have recorded.... Ahhhh hell, I am going to blend the margaritas who am I kidding.

Rob, I wanted to ride to the canyon on Fred.. However, they have assigned me to Bob.
