Grady RN Residency - Summer 2020

Hi everyone! Is anyone else in the process of applying to Grady Memorial’s RN residency program that’s set to start this August?

I may be impatient (?!) but I applied a little over a week ago and have yet to hear back.

Has anyone heard anything back? Or for anyone who went through the process for Winter 2020, how long did it take you to hear back?

Hi everyone! I finally received my rejection letter from the MICU, and have not received any offers for Med/Surg departments.

I went ahead and emailed the nurse residency recruiter to inquire as to what it is that I need to improve/work on for future success. I’ll be reapplying next cohort to see if I can make it in then!

In the meantime, CONGRATS again everyone!! If anyone wants to keep me in mind for their departments let me know ?

OK y’all so I got an offer for 5j/5bcv . Does that mean Imcu AND ICU?

I got an offer for Neuro-ICU/Stepdown. I was told during the interview that residents start in the stepdown unit before they're promoted to the ICU. Did you cover this topic during your interview?

Woke up after my shift last night to an offer email for MICU. I was placed on the alternate list so I’m grateful for the opportunity.
I’ve received other offers since interviewing so I’m making comparisons and getting back to them by tomorrow.

OK so I was in my zoom meeting for 5:45 on the dot and no one ever came to the video chat? WTH

OK so I sent my questions in an email. Residency is for a year with a 2 yr commitment. For those curious about specialty pay she said no we dont get specialty pay but after we finish the residency we get like a $5.45 raise as a RN II. It starts either on Aug 15th or 31st & benefits kick in the 1st of following month.

LOL well I texted her bc no one answered my lil 15min video thingy. So she knew I was enailing her. But she answered right back ?

So that $5.45 increase won’t occur until after the two years or after the first year?

Thanks for posting this info...it’s helping make my decision. For clarity, so it’s the original base pay offer + 5.45 = new pay rate after 1 year?
