I was on probation my first semester (1.8 GPA) and subsequently got my cum GPA to over 3.0 when I graduated with my BA. Years later, I have completed all my prereqs for nursing school and depending on the school my prereq GPA is between 3.8 and 4.0. One nursing school has already accepted me based on transcripts alone, but am applying to other schools to see if I can get into one with cheaper tuition.
Moral: IT CAN BE DONE! Good luck to you!

As I recall, TCC Nursing has said, ALL they look at is grades, GPA. As to whether prereqs only, or everything, I don't know.
Focused overpreparation minimizes surprises.
If you have not done so, strongly recommend you download TCC's Nursing School Application packet, and study it frontwards, backwards, & side to side in both directions.
(You will recall that the application packet can be downloaded ONLY during the 2-month application process window. I expect the window is open, at the moment.)
Bonne chance!

Hey everyone! Im new here..and just decided to pursue a career in nursing after a long break from school. I was previously going for something i was not passionate about and unfortunately have a 2.4 gpa. However..after looking into the nursing program (the ADN at my school) NONE of the prereq classes i need have been taken yet...which equal to about 7 classes...and it looks like they ONLY judge your entrance initially by the gpa you get in these 7 classes...NOT your overall course history gpa. Does this sound familiar? If so..im really excited because I know i can do it and Im very determined..its almost like a brand new start for me!
