Good News or Bad News?!?!?!?!?!

I had a final interview which was a panal peer interview for a job in a pedatric long term care facility. Really nice facility! It was for a on call position.

The nursing director called me back yesterday, about 6 hours after my final interview, saying that she wanted to speak with me and that if I didn't call her back she would try me the next day after her interview in the morning. I didn't get the message because I was at work and left my phone in my locker, so it was too late to return her call.

I tried to call her the next morning, but the phone just rang and it didn't go to voice mail, so I had to go to work again this evening and of course I like a good employee left my phone in my locker again. The director of nursing called my cell twice and called my home twice trying to get a hold of me.

She said she needs to talk with me sooner rather than later, and that she would be on the floor Sunday night and to call her then or send her an email to let her know when a good time would be to talk with her.

So my mind is spinning with possibilites of what this means, I mean I have been rejected enough to know that if they are not interested then they A) brush you off B) notify you by email or voice mail

But then again, if they wanted to offer me the job wouldn't she just say so?

I will call her Sunday night, but just curisous what do any of you think this might mean? Good news or Bad news

If they were not interested they would not even bother trying to get ahold of you several times. I seriously doubt that they would leave a message on a voice mail of the job offer. They would want to speak to the person to to offer the job just for privacy alone. Imagine if they left the message on a wrong persons voicemail. There could be all sorts of repercussionson that.

I know it's hard, but try not to worry....it's out of your hands now... if it's meant to be- you will get the job....

I'd try no matter what to get to her. Sounds like she needs some info from you, or you got the job and they need you to work ASAP. Sometimes they must have reference from your previous employer. Some smaller companies with "iffy" staff don't really care to verify your employment in a timely manner since they just don't care to be professional. You may need to help them get the information.

Sounds good to me! It acctually sounds like they have some unfilled shifts and need to start training you asap so you can cover them.

Same to me sounds like she wants u to start ASAP...

If it was me, I would be doing the same worrying and overanalyzing :) We are the same!

Like previous posters, I don't think they would be making so much effort to turn you down. And good employers don't make job offers (or terminations for that matter) over the phone. It sounds pretty positive to me!

You wouldn't be getting a phone call if you didn't get the job, in my experience anyways :) If I were you I would have my phone on me at all times.

I called and spoke with her and she offered me the job!!!:yeah:

So now I need to work out the orientation process with my current employer, but this is a step in the right direction of where I want my career to go! It is still LTC, but it is Peds:yeah:

When I was a student and had to pick my preceptorship I was torn between pedatrics and the ED. I choose to do my preceptorship in the ED and recently interviewed for an internship in a truama center and didn't get the job and I was devestated, I couldn't understand why. Guess this is why, I am going to get to be a peds nurse!
