Golden West College Spring 2020

Hi everyone, I am new to this site. I was wondering if any pre-nursing students will be applying to the Golden West College ADN program this June for Spring 2020. If so, can you please share your experience as well as how many points you are applying with? Hope to hear from you. Thanks in advance.

Got my letter today and got put into the alternate pool, I’m not sure what my chances are now ? If anyone knows how it works let me know!

Just received my acceptance letter!! So excited for these next few years with you guys!!! ☺️ I had 81 points btw!

I recounted and I definitely had 76 points. Congratulations on getting in btw!

to @brandi737 It looks like a few people with 76 points got in. Maybe they did a lottery at this number, or they miscalculated your points. Can you contact the school to inquire if they possibly added your points up incorrectly?

I just received the mail. It said that I have gained conditional admittance to the Spring 2020 and if I complete the Pre-enrollment requirements within the specified timeframes, I will be guaranteed a place in the class. "if you decide to decline the admission offer to the school of nursing, please let us know asap so that we may offer tour position to an alternate"

Im not sure if I was accepted or put into the alternate pool.

You were accepted. Mine said the same thing. Everyone's admittance is conditional because first we must confirm with them that we accept the seat by oct. 4. Plus complete the pre-enrollment pre-requisites like pass back ground check and all that. But yes you were accepted lol

Thanks a lot. I've never thought I would be accepted since my point is not enough to be competitive compared to the last cohort. But Im so happy now. To everyone that was not accepted yet, dont give up.

@DaniJay Looking at past posts, it seems like Saddleback has a higher NCLEX pass rate, but both GWC and Saddleback have great programs! I work with a nurse who graduated from Saddleback and she loved it. I don't think you can go wrong with either one ?

Low chance. They select students with alternate status # first!

I emailed back and haven’t heard anything. It’s like waiting all over again for the letters!
