Hi everyone, I am new to this site. I was wondering if any pre-nursing students will be applying to the Golden West College ADN program this June for Spring 2020. If so, can you please share your experience as well as how many points you are applying with? Hope to hear from you. Thanks in advance.
@aunienurse based on previous application cycles, from what I understand is that it’s the alternates for the alternates. Alternates with a number will be given spots that open up first and if they run out of alternates with a number then they’ll take from the alternate pool
Hi everyone,
I received my letter yesterday and I am very happy to say I got into the nursing program with 81 points. Congratulations to those who also got accepted!
For those of you who are on the alternate list - do not lose hope!! I want you to know that last semester/fall I applied to the nursing school with 79 points and got on the alternate list. I was number 12. I did not think I had much of a chance but I was shocked when I got a letter of acceptance about two or three weeks later.
Unfortunately, I had to decline the offer for personal reasons. So this is my second time applying and I am very thankful I got accepted.
The spring is usually easier to get into and with the new point system most people will apply with lower points. Good luck to all of you!
Hey guys,
I applied in Fall of 19 and was denied. I applied again with the new point system and still denied. I know what I have to do to improve my score but at this point im getting really discouraged because this is telling me I'm not meant for Nursing at all.
My family continues to tell me to not give up because the schools don't know me the way my family does and its all based on numbers.
I hope those who were accepted have a wonderful semester
Take care

I just got my mail and in it was my acceptance letter to GWC. I hope everyone that hasn't received their letters yet, gets them today!
For those of you losing hope, I hope you realize that there's nothing wrong with you. As you know, nursing is one of the most competitive college programs in the United States to get into, due to limited space in programs. For what it's worth, I applied to LBCC as well, and they only take percentages of each GPA range instead of just the students with the highest scores, which increases your odds of getting in. I heard that they guarantee admission if you have applied a certain number of times without getting in (I don't remember what that number was--my apologies).
