Golden West College Fall 2019

U.S.A. California

Hello fellow fall 2019 applicants!

God willing, we will find out if we made it into the fall 2019 cohort at Golden West the latter part of April. I have been waiting for someone to start a post so we could all "calmly" wait this process out together! I know I am not the only one out here so please join me as we "patiently" wait for our acceptance emails/mail! All positive vibes, I am low key an internal wreck, if you cannot tell by the words I strategically placed within "quotes", lol.

Ok girls.... first of all let me say I appreciate your humor because the stress of waiting is killing me. I applied to A few associate programs and a few entry level masters programs (idk what I was thinking) and no clue if I'll get in anywhere!!!! It's making me sick! And headshots? WOW!? I did however add a resume. But only because I had to do it for the masters programs...... the ones that I did not get invited to interview for ???

That is great that you applied to master programs! You must have a lot of points to be eligible for both types of programs. I wish you luck in this process and we are all figuratively holding hands as we wait this out and count down days until we are all accepted into programs. That will be where all the "real fun" will start and this little bit of stress and anxiety will be a freaking walk in the park, lol.

@duachangesthings actually I'm around 80points. So most of you have higher points then me. But the masters programs, from what I've been told by people in the program, are less competitive then the second bachelor's programs.... and tend to take B average students with experience over 4.0 students. My bachelors is from Chapman University and i got around 86 on my TEAS. But the UC MSN programs dont look at TEAS scores. I took a chance and applied to A few but we'll see....im not sure what to expect.

0oh. But I did get a response from UCLA and they told me i needed to update my clinical experience for the masters programs. Ugggggg so I'm just praying to get in anywhere!!!! And stressing out while I wait like ? You sound like you are prepared and u have a great attitude and I'm sure you'll get in! I wish you all the best and hopefully we can all study together in the next cohort ?

Wow, I did not know all of that, great info about the masters programs. I am more than confident that you will get into a program with your stats! And yes, that was one of the reasons why I wanted to start the thread so if we all get in we can collaborate and support each other through it. I spend so much time at work with nurses and they all speak about the importance of establishing good relationships with others in nursing school. I know there will be times that each of us may want to give in to the pressure, or someone may have missed something in their notes, or we may all need a break and near to head to the nearest bar to just hang (even though I do not drink I can be the destinated sober driver ?). The point is, it is very important to have social support networks as a nursing student.

It’s finally April guys!! ????

I'm going to be obsessively checking the website all week to see if they've updated it. We are finding out so soon!!! I'm not sure exactly how many spots they have each semester. I assumed it was some where around 50, that seems to be the norm for most of the ADN schools around here

I thought the website said the end of April.

It does! But according to last years thread, people got letters on April 6th. I'm hanging on to the chance they just say end of April so no one bugs them about when they are sending out letters, but they actually send them earlier
