Golden West College Fall 2019

Hello fellow fall 2019 applicants!

God willing, we will find out if we made it into the fall 2019 cohort at Golden West the latter part of April. I have been waiting for someone to start a post so we could all "calmly" wait this process out together! I know I am not the only one out here so please join me as we "patiently" wait for our acceptance emails/mail! All positive vibes, I am low key an internal wreck, if you cannot tell by the words I strategically placed within "quotes", lol.

I hope we do too! I applied to Saddleback College and Santa Ana College as well. I'll be happy to get accepted anywhere. Saddleback and GWC are the two I really want to get into though, they both seem to have great programs

Welcome! Since you have been a student at GWC, do you know of anyone that is currently in the program or have you heard anything about how the nursing program is? How many points do you have?

My coworker got accepted into the program 2 years ago and they notified her by mail. She also told me that at that time when she applied that they accepted 80 people for fall and spring. She applied for fall admission like how we are doing now, but was offered spring admission. I do not know if they are still selecting students this way, but it gave me more hope.

I have another coworker that is currently in the program at Saddleback. I heard from her and this other guy that currently attends there that it is a kick a** program and they throughly prepare you to be a nurse! The first semester is supposely very gruesome, but after that it is less hectic and the schedule is very doable.

Also, I see the students at Golden West everyday at my job doing their clinicals on my unit. I do not know what year they are but they are always by themselves with no instructor and they be hustling, very busy, and seem to know what they are doing! I do not think you can go wrong with either program!

They’ll be sending letters through the mail.

Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone that is currently in the program ? I should have 81 points.

Hi! Wanted to join the conversation in hopes that this thread can lead into a Facebook page and we can all help each other get through nursing school!!

Can totally relate with the anticipation and anxiety of waiting on those letters!!

That is the way to think, so positive! Yes, I pray we all get in and have a very supportive class that will support each other, motivate each other, and pull together to get through nursing school! If we get in we will definitely need a facebook page!

That's wonderful to hear! I know golden west has some agreement with CSU Fullerton where you can take some classes for your BSN through them over the summer while you're getting your ADN with GWC. But then Saddleback has a preceptorship program where it seems like you can request a specialty you want to do for it. Both definitely have their perks!

I have 88 points if I calculated it right. They just changed the point system for next semester.
