Hello fellow fall 2019 applicants!
God willing, we will find out if we made it into the fall 2019 cohort at Golden West the latter part of April. I have been waiting for someone to start a post so we could all "calmly" wait this process out together! I know I am not the only one out here so please join me as we "patiently" wait for our acceptance emails/mail! All positive vibes, I am low key an internal wreck, if you cannot tell by the words I strategically placed within "quotes", lol.

The schedule changes at Week 5 or 7 when you start clinicals. Then it changes again at week 10. If you all have any questions, let me know 8-)
@Nurse2bSummer722 Hi! Could you also pm your email? I just got accepted into the program ?
Hi guys,
I am wondering if any one here have working experience that is more than 1000 hrs. How did you have the letter from your boss/Doctor? I am in a very hard situation right now. I am applying to Cypress for Spring and I want a letter from my doctor so I could have more chance to get in. However, my doctor said he needs a form/link from the school sent to him so he can fill it out my hours, my position, experience i have gained at his office and the send it back to the school I am applying for. I asked Cypress and they said there is no form or link. Im wondering if Golden West would have a form to fill out. If not, I would quit my job at his office (which is 5 months already) and look for another one. My doctor said he has been doing this a lot of times for his staffs, but this is the first time he heard about schools not sending forms to Doctors.
Anyone have experience about this?? Thank you guys.
Best,
Amy

I just asked my boss for a letter and he wrote one for me, sealed it in an envelope and gave it to me to turn in with my application packet. Some schools have the online link method for turning in LOR but GWC doesn't, you just need a letter with an official heading of your workplace.
Sounds like he might not believe you, so try explaining it to him and send him a link of the GWC Nursing requirements where they explain what they expect.
From their online orientation PDF:
"If you have current direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting or relevant certification or license, get letters from the organization on official letterhead stating the number of hours completed the length of time you worked/volunteered and the type of work performed or copy of certification/license and attach it to your application."

Thank you so much for your advice. I'd really appreciate this. I'll try again and hope he'll change his mind.
