I mailed my Fall 2011 GSU nursing application on Jan. 22. The application deadline is March 1st. As we wait, I invite all applicants, traditional or ACE, to post their program gpa and TEAS version V scores and keep others abreast when they receive an applicaton response. Here are mine:

Program GPA: 3.63

Percentile Rank - National: 97

congrats jen!! :yeah::yeah::yeah:

Can't wait to meet you guys at orientation :D and get study groups situated hahaha :lol2:.

Once again, I walked anxiously to check the mailbox and this time, there was an acceptance letter from GSU! I got into the ACE program. I admit, I only had a glimpse of hope left but GOD prevailed, thanks! They thought long and hard about me but I assure them, they made the right decision!!! YAYYY!!!

Now I have to return the acceptance form by April 18 and complete the PINS Review by June 3. I do have to contact them because it indicates I need to complete a US History, as well as a US Constitution requirement, before the fall. I completed both of those during my first undergraduate degree so this is something I have to resolve....but there's no stopping me!! I'm psyched!!

Congratulations to everyone on their acceptances!

Hopefully I can meet you all one day.

I have a quick question though, I don't get what this means "Completion of core course requirements for a Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing degree as outlined in the current Georgia State University Undergraduate Catalog." Is it saying that I have to have all my general ed courses done before entering the nursing program? Because in their Generic fall schedule it includes electives that we have to take in order to graduate so i thought i could do my general ed requirements while im in nursing school. i'm really confused.

Highschoolfuturenurs:

Hopefully I understand what you're asking. Although the traditional track will allow you to take many of your core classes during nursing school, there are some general education classes that are required as prereqs to beginning the program--namely, Eng 1101, Eng 1102, and Math 1111 (or 1101), along with all your sciences, of course. Other core classes can be taken while in the program.

Hope that helps!

Disclaimer--I was in my last semester of core and prereqs when I applied and will be entering the ACE program, so I'm no expert in what is required for the traditional track. But, this is my understanding of what is required per the nursing page. If I'm handing out bad info, I'm sure someone will jump in and let us know. ;)

Thank you kel3!

You were right. It's only for ACE not traditional.

Congrats to everybody! I'm so excited...to study my butt off. XD
