Emory 2021 MSN programs
Morning all! I’ve been watching this thread for a while. Congratulations to everyone that has already been accepted. I submitted my MSN app at the end of August for the priority deadline, AGACNP track, checked OPUS this AM and my status was changed to admitted!

mother-baby jobs
Seems like you'll fit in then! In January we recently scaled down to those ratios. We do get pts on mag, post op gyn, readmits and IUFDs.

mother-baby jobs
Hey, I'm a MB RN at DeKalb and according to other nurses they pay a little better than other hospitals. We are a baby friendly facility and do practice couplet care. Apparently there is a sign on bonus for MB nurses with previous experience, so apply!

Can someone dumb down The whole TCB thing?
From what I understand, TCB or serum bili's are not done before 24 hours (pathological) if the baby doesn't have risk factors such as prematurity, ABO incompatibility, breastfeeding etc. For example any baby with a positive Coombs result gets a 6 hour serum drawn. Sometimes if I have an exclusively breast feeding mom who doesn't seem to feed quite well, I do TCBs on their babies before 24 if they look a little jaundiced. Physiological jaundice usually peaks between 1-4 days that's why that TCB check is done. At my institution our TCB chart is rather simple and broken down from 1hr to about 72 hours with mg/dl numbers that range from 6-12.9 mg/dl along with protocols on whether baby follows up with their normal Ped in 1-3 days, serums to be drawn or whether the physician should be notified immediately. Regardless of hours of age, any TCB over 13mg/dL requires us to follow up with a serum and a call to the physician when the results are back.

Georgia State University Pre-Nursing Students
I personally think it all depends on how you balance your life, time management is essential. I was an ACE student and I still went to my favorite concerts, hung out with my friends, kept my on-campus job and graduated on time. I would say that the beginning can be a little rough and the end is SUPER tedious but it is manageable. If you choose the traditional route and things go to slow for you, you can apply for the option to combine the last two semesters.

Residencies that accept ADN in Georgia
Dekalb definitely takes ADNs in the residency program. There were a handful of GPC folks. Another cycle of the residency program is coming up in July I believe.
