Georgia Highlands College Fall 2011

Published

Hello everyone. I just applied for admissions for the fall 2011 program a couple weeks ago.

Has anyone esle applied as well? If so what is your GPA and ACT score if you don't mind me asking.

My gpa is a 3.0, or higher because I have grades that have not posted, and I took the ACT over 13 years ago with a score of 18.

Thanks

Hi, this is my first post on this site. I am in a bit of a predicament.. I got my rejection letter from school when letters went out. I live in Kennesaw and applied for Marietta. Today I got a call asking me if I was still interested and of course I am but she said they aren't sending people to Marietta campus this year, only Rome. What is the drive like from the Kennesaw/Marietta area to Rome? I am really hesitant to accept because of the distance. I am new to GA so I just wanted to see what people think. Such a bittersweet phone call! Thanks.

@ kms06y - Congratulations on getting into the program!! That must have been one very unexpected phone call!

As for the drive to Rome - I live about 33 miles from the campus and it takes just under an hour to get there... depending on how many traffic lights I hit. Driving to Rome is a lot less stressfull that trying to get anywhere in the Atlanta traffic (in my opinion)!!! I currently live 22 miles from my job and if I don't get out the door by 7 a.m. it takes me an hour to get to work in the traffic.

If you are concerned about the drive, hop in the car and drive to the campus... that is what I did. Then you can decide if the drive is worth it or not. I am not thrilled about driving to Rome but I am willing to do it for my slot in the class!!

I live in Kennesaw and get there in 45-50 mins. It would take just as long to get to Marietta in traffic. It is a nice relaxing country drive. What other choice do you have? Gpc is 2hrs in traffic and 45-1hr if no traffic. Play some music and drive!!!

kms06y, I'm having the same problem too. I live in Buford and it's gonna take about two hours for me to get to Rome. I'm thinking of moving to Atlanta now or applying to another school. I really hope they let us go to Marietta for our second semester.
