Georgia Highlands College Fall 2011

Published

Hello everyone. I just applied for admissions for the fall 2011 program a couple weeks ago.

Has anyone esle applied as well? If so what is your GPA and ACT score if you don't mind me asking.

My gpa is a 3.0, or higher because I have grades that have not posted, and I took the ACT over 13 years ago with a score of 18.

Thanks

Hey! I haven't applied yet, but i plan on applying for fall 2011. I have a BA so i won't be using my ACT score. My BA degree was a 2.86, my post-bacc so far (stats and hum.dev) 3.5. I'm taking both anatomy 1 and 2 starting jan 2011. so i will probably send in my application in feb or march. Highlands is definitely my first choice of schools.

Ok great. Anatomy can be very tough if you are not 100% focused. I took a and p I at Highlands and hated it. I took II at Darton and liked it better. Will they let you take them both together?

Yea, since i'm a post bacc, pretty much any college i applied to will let me create my own schedule. Anatomy shouldnt be too difficult, i took it in college but we didn't have a two part course so i have to retake it. Especially now being older i know how to study...lol but we"ll will see. only thing i will be missing is nutrition but we don't need that before applying so i'm hoping to take it between first and second semester at ga highlands

Hello I will be applying in mid march when I will have A & P 2 done and will do Micro Spring quarter...which def limits my chances figuring they wont see it completed. The nursing adviser at Highlands had a little information session about a month ago and according to her they are changing the point sheet. She said that they noticed students that do well in Human Development, all the Anatomys, Math, and English seem to get through the 2 years. So I am crossing my fingers that those classes become worth 50% of the scoring!! since I'm going to be missing Micro when they see my application. All TEAS version 5 is required to get in...anybody taken it yet?? I'm taking it the last day of Winter semester, so I am going to be pulling my hair out studying for human development, A & P, and the TEAS. Anybody know when to apply to highlands by? I'm going to be a Chatt transfer.

April1st is the deadline for fall 2011....you said you are complete AnP 2 next semester then taking micro in winter? so are you applying to fall 2011 or spring 2012?

Chattahoochee is still on quarters until Fall 2011...I have Winter quarter, Spring quarter, and Summer quarter until Highlands program starts in the Fall. Chatts Winter quarter ends March 17th so I will be cutting it close but I will get my application up there right after that. I will have all my classes completed by the time the program actually starts Fall 2011...only problem is they wont see that. They will only see what is completed at the end of Chatts Winter quarter. And when I say apply I mean apply to highlands not to the nursing program...you have to accepted to the school before you apply to the program but I cant seem to find any dates on that.

Hey... make sure that Highlands will accept those classed from Chatt. The reason that I say that is because I had a few students in my classes at Highlands that were retaking everything because Highlands didn't accept Chatt's classes. Has that changed? Please find out as soon as possible. Go ahead and get accepted at Highlands so they can tell you what will transfer and what will not. You don't want to wait to the last minute. Trust me.

Oh it was thought about waaaay before I even started taking prereqs. Highlands has a place on their website where you can go see the transfer equivalences. The only classes I can't take at Chatt are the Nutrition and the History. In fact out of all the nursing programs Ive looked into Dalton is the only one that wont take some of my classes.

Wendy, I was on the same schedule you are when finishing my prereqs last year. I also went to Chatt and everything transferred with no problem! I finished A&P 2 in winter, applied, and took micro in spring quarter. I got accepted - just finished first semester! :) As long as your grades in your other classes are good, it will make up for the fact that you're missing micro and nutrition on the worksheet. I didn't have nutrition either - taking chemistry this summer instead. Good luck to all you guys!

Will they take A.C.T? I think they require the S.A.T.

Yes they will accept both, the ACT or SAT scores...
