Georgia Highlands College Fall 2011

Published

Hello everyone. I just applied for admissions for the fall 2011 program a couple weeks ago.

Has anyone esle applied as well? If so what is your GPA and ACT score if you don't mind me asking.

My gpa is a 3.0, or higher because I have grades that have not posted, and I took the ACT over 13 years ago with a score of 18.

Thanks

Those of you who bough your equipment at all heart, were you able to find everything that was on the list?

hello, i was recently accepted into ghc for spring 2012. i was wondering how fall 2011 class is doing and if anyone can share some helpful tips.

Do lots of practice questions, Read powerpoints, register book for evolve website and do practice NCLEX questions. Also pay attention to notes at bottom of powerpoints. Do not take medical terminology for granted, those are easy points at end of tests, and start practicing dosage calculations ahead of time.

Thank you whtsnxt11!

Could you advise the books we need for medical terminology and dosage calculations?

Medical terminology 6th edition a word building approach, I did not use book much, a girl in our class would post each tests content and I studied off it. Clinical calculations A Unified Approach 5th edition by Joanna M. Daniels and Loretta M Smith.

I would like to add, I know you want to get ahead of the game but don't buy books until orientation they may have changed. It is hard to follow from an incorrect book. My advise would be try not to stress going into it, know you can do it. Make good study habits and stay focused. It is what they say but, you can do it. People are getting A,s so it can be done. Its not me but the one thing is i may not be an a student anymore but that is ok it is hard work and dedication. just put all you can into it a, b, c grades all get the same degree. Good luck in your journey.

For those already in the program, I have cost questions. I am applying for the 2012 Fall semester but I'm having issues finding out how much the total program costs. I know the classes are 9 credit hours and tuition is about 1200 a semester but can anyone give me an estimate on how much each semester will be or total program cost when including insurance, extra fees, books, supplies, etc...? I'm just trying to prepare as much as possible! Any info would be great!! Thanks! :)

It is about 1900 a semester for tuition and insurance. Books for total program are around 1200. Uniforms and equipment 200-300. Cost of N.C.L.E.X 300, some take a prep class 400-500 for N.C.L.E.X. These are estimates only obviously from my personal experience.

I was thinking it would be close to that amount. Just wanted some confirmation. Thanks!

Anyone live in Marietta or Kennesaw? Nursing student needs rideshare to Georgia Highlands Heritage Hall beginning Jan. 2012 and back to Marietta or Kennesaw. Does anyone need a rideshare to help with expenses in traveling? Moving to Rome for me is not an option. :)
