Georgia Highlands College Fall 2011

Published

Hello everyone. I just applied for admissions for the fall 2011 program a couple weeks ago.

Has anyone esle applied as well? If so what is your GPA and ACT score if you don't mind me asking.

My gpa is a 3.0, or higher because I have grades that have not posted, and I took the ACT over 13 years ago with a score of 18.

Thanks

I got a littmann also, Did you meantion if your bundle had the ebooks with them. I appreciate your feedback..

the one you got is the exact one I purchased. lol tooo cool.. Im so excited.

how hard are the clinical calculation exams

Im with you guys on the Littman and will order one. I will also look at the rest of kit stuff from the website you recommended, I also prefer quality stuff and want it to last.

I bought the ebook this last semester, and rarely used it. But that is just me, I like the paper book to highlight, write in, etc.

The clinical calculations tests are not that hard, but that does not mean you should not practice. If you practice with the practice tests they give you, time yourself, and remember the rounding rules, and do not stress yourself out( I did the first time, had a panic attack, and missed 2 questions, you are only allowed to miss 1) you will be fine.

And if you are using the same book that we did a year ago, Fundamentals of Nursing by Potter & Perry, I would start on reading Chapter 32 Vital Signs, Learn the ranges for the Vital signs.

Good Luck :)

Thanks Whtsnxt11

I'm confused. The first teacher suggest getting a Littman but the director spoke up & said we need a Rappaport type stethoscope. When I go to allheart & put in Rappaport only 1 Littman comes up & its not double sided. Can someone please clear this up for me?

I don't know about that type of stethoscope. I know I used mine and never have had any issues with using it at clinicals?

Im not sure on stethoscope either. Im thinking of buying a good one and if we can't use at first and need rappaport, then I will but a cheap rappaport type.

I had to turn in some papers Thursday & ran into the director on the way in. I asked her to confirm the rappaport stethoscope I had was what I needed. She told me that I had the right type of stethoscope. I originally was going to buy a better stethoscope but I didn't want to buy 1 that they wouldn't let us use. So I guess I'll just wait until the end of 1st week of class to decide if I'm going to buy a more expensive stethoscope.

@Candygirl2011 did you order your rappaport stethoscope online?

@SweetNlow0204

No, the nurse that did my physical gave me 1 of hers.
