  1. It was the most hillarious, jaw-dropping thread I had ever read!!!! It screamed TROLL but this guy went on for seven pages before the moderators shut it down!
  2. My all time favorite was this: my girlfriend is working at a clinic and it concerns me that she handles so many genetalia. She is obsessed with memberes at the moment and talks to her nursing friends about it all the time? Will she get over this soon? Is mine just boring? Is she comparing mine to theirs?
  3. Some of my personal favorites... I have a 4.0 GPA and got a 98 on the TEAS test and I have all A's in my biology classes and I look cute in scrubs and I have friends in last years nursing class and I want to be a nurse really bad... I am sure I will get in. So, what is your GPA/TEAS test/biology grade? Good luck to the rest of you!! They kicked me out of nursing school because my average is 74.9998673. That's almost the same as a 75. They didn't kick out of school and during clinicals she gave a patient the wrong meds.... that's not fair. How do I convince them to let me stay? I have only failed one other class and that was because I freaked out over the test and yes I know that 75 is passing but 74.9998673 is almost the same as a 75. Geez... my school is so unfair. I don't want to hire a lawyer but this is not fair!! Yeah, so, umm... I was outside eating my lunch yesterday with the other "offical" nursing students and some of the pre-nursing students were walking by and I over-heard them refer to each other as nursing students... OMG!! How dare they call each other nursing students!! I have been in "offical" nursing classes for three weeks now... they are still taking prerequisites and have no idea what I have been going thru since "official" nursing school started. My "official" nursing classes are soooo much harder than their classes. I have earned the right to call myself an "official" nursing student and they haven't. Should I report them to the nursing director/dean of students/BON/my state representative? This has gone on long enough!! Someone has got to tell the pre-nursing students that they are not "offical" nursing students and they have to stop telling everyone that they are nursing students. I want to be a nurse.... but I don't like poop, long hours, vomit, babies, working holidays, old people, sick people, puss, annoying family members, broken bones, germs, people with no insurance, dead people, white uniforms, ugly scrubs, wrinkley old people, paperwork, wiping bottoms, blood, bad smells, false teeth, fake eyeballs, bratty kids, making beds, emptying bed pans, needles, and I really enjoy my free time. What is the right job for me? And I want to start right away. Which school will get me a license the fastest... oh, and I have a 2.4 GPA, my TEAS score was 62, and I have a C in both A&P classes. And, if you can, tell me which classes are the easiest one to pass with the easiest professors because I like to hang out with my friends on the weekends so I don't have a lot of free time to study!! I am way too young to give up my free time so that isn't an option.
  4. @ kms06y - Congratulations on getting into the program!! That must have been one very unexpected phone call! As for the drive to Rome - I live about 33 miles from the campus and it takes just under an hour to get there... depending on how many traffic lights I hit. Driving to Rome is a lot less stressfull that trying to get anywhere in the Atlanta traffic (in my opinion)!!! I currently live 22 miles from my job and if I don't get out the door by 7 a.m. it takes me an hour to get to work in the traffic. If you are concerned about the drive, hop in the car and drive to the campus... that is what I did. Then you can decide if the drive is worth it or not. I am not thrilled about driving to Rome but I am willing to do it for my slot in the class!!
  5. @MadsMom09... oh how I love a good coupon! Thanks for the tip :) You can call anytime during business hours to make an appointment; the offices close at noon on Friday but I think they are open until 5:30 the rest of the week.
  6. @Fawn911... thanks for lurking around here to answer questions!! Do you mind if I ask what your schedule is like at the Marietta Campus? And one other question... were there any books on the Nurs 1101 list that were never used/waste of money and any suggestions of extra books that are helpful? TIA
  7. Anybody have an idea of how many set of scrubs we are going to need? Do we HAVE to wear them to class every day or only during clinicals? Trying to plan my budget... oh yeah, shoes. I didn't see an guidelines on those. You guys seen/know anything?
  8. There was sheet in the package titled "Procedure for Required Background Check..." down on the very bottom it gives a process the student must follow when obtaining a background check - item 3 said to select Other schools/hospitals (if using advantagestudents.com). That's what I put. As for the books... I went to the campus bookstore and looked under Nurs 1101. There is a list of 14 (?) required books and 5 optional books. It didn't list the ISBN numbers but I wrote down all the titles/author/edition and put the info into Amazon until I found the right textbook. (the bookstore does show the book cover so that helped!) Amazon is usually cheaper so I am going that route for books. That's my two cents for tonight... now I am off to celebrate with the hubby and kids!
  9. Don't know about the picture size. I just had a tooth pulled yesterday and I am not thrilled about having to take a picture while looking like a chipmunk! I started my bakground check and drug test... it is $78.50 for both thru advantagestudents.com. I also registered thru the American Heart Association's web site for the CPR class. And books... OMG! I have been pricing them online and it is going to be close to $600. How is everyone else coming with their "to do list"?
  10. WOO HOO for you, too!! Congrats!
  11. YEAH FOR ME - I'M IN TOO!!!!! Not sure who is more excited, me or the hubby!
  12. WOO HOO!!! Yeah for you!
  13. I was told the students who are on the Wellstar scholarship program automatically get the Marietta campus... of the 40 seats that are left, they pick based on how far you are from the Rome campus. Scores don't matter... just distance.
