Georgetown U. Accelerated BSN - Spring 2010

Published

Hi Everyone,

I just submitted my application for Georgetown's Accelerated BSN starting Spring 2010 and I just wanted to open a post for anyone else that has applied as well.

Got an email from the advisor. Yay!

Thanks WJL2009 and JLSELD! You are helping to bring my confidence back up bit by bit:up:

I am thinking of emailing/calling to ask about the waitlist possibility, just nervous about their response. You don't think that there is already a waitlist? I would feel very foolish asking about it if I didn't even qualify for it!

Have a great day!

Beach it - Yes, dont let it affect your confidence... its probably just that they had had so many people who were qualified that they had to make hard choices...

i think an email or letter with a "thank you" for the whole process, and state that you would be available to take a spot in the program even at the very last minute could be effective (someone posted this idea in the thread a few days ago).. and really, why not? You have nothing to lose and you never know what could happen.

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

I'm curious to know if anyone on the Georgetown admission team reads this thread :D

Hello Everyone!! I got accepted to the program as well :D I applied for the Direct Entry program, but my acceptance letter was only for the ABSN program. Any other Direct Entry applicants in the same boat? If so, do you know when we will find out? Thanks in advance!

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted. Hopefully I will see you there in January (depending on the scholarship)!!

Congrats Allimar87!

I believe that we both interviewed for the FNP Direct-Entry program, but I am not sure if we met. I was also accepted to Georgetown... I spoke with Admissions and was told only 2 people were accepted- so that is me and you! The email stated acceptance the the ABSN portion, but I called to confirm that it is indeed an acceptance to the Direct Entry Program as well. Have you decided if you be attending Georgetown?

I am also from California and need a place to live/ roommates! It would be great to live in a house with other nursing students and share the costs of living. One bedrooms/studios are sooo expensive! I am 24, pretty laid back, very clean and school is obviously my top priority. But, I do like to have fun to balance out all that hard work! I am definately bringing my car because I have to explore whats is around me. I LOVE the Georgetown area and if I could find 2-3 roommates I think I can find the perfect place. I am already looking for places online and then planning to go back to DC to check out the places im interested in, probably in the beginning of November or December.

Congrats to all those who were accepted, and good luck to those with other endevors!

Jeter Chick,

Thanks, who did you call to find out? I called L.A. and she said that results would be given later last week (which I didn't hear anything). I was also told that you could be accepted into the ABSN program and not the Direct Entry program, so I'm still crossing my fingers because it might be someone else they accepted instead of me. I will call tomorrow and try to find out! What number were you in the interview? I was number 2, if that helps :D I will still attend if I don't get into the Direct Entry

WLJ: since we're both from Cali, wana find a place together too? I foresee that I'll need a fellow Californian around so I wont feel too out of place.

PM me ladies, and we can start looking for something. Just to warn you, I am super poor and on a very tight budget though. I also want to live close to campus.

Can you believe that the CSS profile actually costs money to apply to? Its a financial aid application! I'm applying because I need money and dont have money!

Oh and BeachIt, I think it largely depends on how much of a good fit you are with the school. Although I was also asked about my EMT experience. Keep on it, dont let this one rejection get you down. I was rejected by many-a-school. Plus, theres always Fall to look forward to.

Should I book a flight for 12/15 or 1/6?

yeah i pretty much have no clue when to fly out. my last class here is 12/17..... i was thinking right after christmas or right after new years...

hi everyone! im moving to DC from maine for the program so im definitely on the hunt for apartments.
