Generic name for vitals machine?

Does anyone know of a simple generic name for the vitals machines that roll around? We've been talking about different terms like the "COW" and I was curious if this device had a nickname like "computer on wheels"?

We've always referred to ours as 'R2' (as in R2D2)

Same here. The previous hospital I worked at called them dynamaps. At my current place I've noticed "vitals machine."

We call them Dynamaps and our brand name is Welch Allyn.

I call the vitals machine a "dynamap" though I have no idea if the brand we use is that one or not.

We call our computers "WOW", which is Workstation on Wheels. Could be they had a problem in the past with the word cow :)

We called ours "Rosey". No idea why. That was her name when I started there!

LOL! When I was doing clinicals, we were told to NEVER refer to it as the COW again! Apparently, someone was overheard by a patient saying something like "the COW in room 214.." and there was a bit of a problem. :-)

Out of curiosity did you witness that first hand?

I have heard variations of that story in every single place I have worked and have never heard of anyone having first hand knowledge. I am starting to think that is one of those nursing stories.
