NO SHE DID NOT WALK INTO CLASS WITH a RED THONG CLEARLY SHOWING UNDER HER UNIFORM!:smackingf

Check the patients respirations by grabing her wrist and looking at the clock...

but....thats how i do it. granted i hold their wrist, count their pulses first then continue to hold their wrist and look at the clock every so often while watching their chest rise and fall.

you do count people's respirations by holding the pt's wrists and looking at the clock. alot of health care professionals do it that way. its so that the patient doesnt know youre counting their respirations and change their breathing pattern.

pretty slick, eh?

Your right. I was taught that technique in LPN school 15 years ago for the exact same reason...so the patient doesn't know your counting their respirations.

No she did not...blurt out to the (male) doctor when watching an infant circumcision, "That's the first uncircumcized male I've ever seen!"

Yes, that was me. I felt like such an idiot. I'm sure that was far more information about my personal life than the doctor ever wanted to know.

no she didn't ...take the vitals signs of a patient who expired...this happened to a nursing student in my class during clinicals ( right before graduation, YIKES!) :nurse:

:rotfl: What would be funnier/scarier, is if she got any and wrote them down.

No she didnt say to a parent of an infant that he had to leave the room while she did her assessment "for my own comfortable-ness" instead of COMFORT. Makes the parent real "comfortable' with that RN caring for his critically ill infant.

I know this is supposed to be a fun thread, but my bigger problem with the nurse in question is asking the parents of an infant to leave the room for an assessment.

No she did not....ask a patient what it was like for her to have cancer when she had a benign tumor.

One of the girls in my class did this last semester...in 4th year and didn't know what benign meant!

No he didn't get a call on his cell phone that wasn't turned off during a test! AND No he didn't proceed to take the call and hold a mundane conversation while the rest of us were testing! :angryfire We were all ready to drag him out by his ears and beat him.

No he did not park his car in ghe garage and walk in at the end of the day and get another ticket before leaving that only had five min stamped on it so that he did not have to pay $12 for parking for the day!

(And get caught on camera and try to deny it!:chuckle )

....say to a patient's wife...."No, he's not a doctor, but he plays one on tv!!"

One of my wittier moments in clinical-too many commercials for me. :selfbonk: These posts are way too funny!!!

That is so funny! I think I just laughed for five minutes straight!! I've heard nurses at my clinical site say similar things.

And then nurse him back... instant clinical!
