No she didn't.... ask me if the trach patient vomited out her mouth, she thought that it came out of her trach. I asked her if she wanted me to draw her a picture. The saddest thing is that she is a supervisor! :imbar

No she did not ask the nurse if a patient has a nephrostomy tube then how do they still urinate? The nurse proceeded to give her a quick anatomy lecture to point out the the body has 2 kidneys....
yes I asked it...after thinking about it for 5 min without coming up with the answer. Major DUH moment when the nurse answered .

Introduce myself as working in the "NEUROLOGY" department to my UROLOGY pre-op patient (seeing as I work all services) and, without missing a beat, start the pre-op interview ... until I saw the look on the pt's face ... :stone ... I guess I was the one who needed some help 'up there' today ... :chuckle ... pt genuinely believed he was about to have "wrong site" surgery in a big way, wow ... :uhoh21:

Insulin has to be checked by 2 nurses, how did that get through? Glad to hear the patient was ok though!
At some hospitals, they don't require a second nurse to check insulin. That's the case at the hospital I'm at this semester.

No she did not have her cell phone on in class and answer it on the second ring DURING LECTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No she did not have her cell phone on during lecture three times in the past month, answer it, and proceed to tell her boyfriend she was in lecture and what we were learning about that day!!!!!!! :roll :roll
She hung up quickly after the instructor shot her a "oh no you did not just answer that phone in class" look! :chuckle :chuckle
Now she keeps it on vibrate- but keeps it on her desk instead of in her pocket or bag :uhoh21: :uhoh21: It sounds even louder when it vibrates on the desk than when it would ring! :rotfl: :rotfl:

No she did not...
Place her stethoscope on the right side of the abdomen when listening for the "whoosh" while checking NG tube placement.
 This was me on Thursday. What in the world was I thinking? Maybe her stomach had moved to the other side? No wonder I didn't hear it! LOL

Check the patients respirations by grabing her wrist and looking at the clock.
My other friend in OB, asked the patient " how is your lochia?" The patient said. " my what?" LOL........She should have said, "how is your bleeding?"
Tell our instructor he didn't know how to make a bed (senior) EEks!

No she didn't...
...tell a group of psych patients that another nursing student (male) was a doctor. (she wanted them to leave her alone, which they did when they thought a doctor was on the floor)
...get caught making out with a resident(doctor, not patient), during clinicals, at the hospital. What is worse, she was dating a resident, but one she got caught with was not him!:imbar
....ask the instructor "what do that does" in reference to the antibiotic ointment being applied to a wound.:uhoh21:

No she did not confuse pediatric surgery to insert tympanostomy tubes with tubal ligation surgery. Not that I know anyone who did that, of course.

No she did not.... take the "dart method" of giving an injection literally, and throw a needle at her patient!
(Incidentally, this student was asked to leave the nursing program :chuckle )
