I'm in -- going to Nursing School in August

Hi everyone,

I got in! I'm starting an ASN program in August. I very excited about it. It's a two year program, I'll finish in May '06.

Many of you may know that I had my mind set on an Accelerated BSN program. Well things change. The schedule for this ASN program was far more family friendly than the accelerated BSN program. I'll have the opportunity to work as an extern next summer (accelerated BSN doesn't offer that). And here is the clincher: the ASN students at this program loved their instructors/preceptors. That sealed the deal. I plan on persuing an RN > BSN or RN > MSN eventually, but for now, ASN it is.

It is SUCH A RELIEF to have plans for the Fall. "Plan B" is officially shelved -- My second career is underway!

Congrats! I know what is feels like to not know which nursing path I'll be on - as I'm looking into MEPN programs and ADN. :) Glad to hear that it's worked out for you! Hopefully it will for me too! Best of luck! :)

Way to go! Your enthusiasm is contagious. I was so excited a few weeks ago when I got my letter (which I waited for 2 months for) of acceptance to a BSN program that I nearly had the cops called on me by my neighbors because me, my husband and my 6 year old daughter were screaming so loud! I have calmed down since, but you just made all of the joy come back!!
