When you roll over at 0500 on your nights off and cackle to yourself, because you can roll over and go back to sleep!
I especially love doing this when I hear that the night I'm off is a 'night from hell'. And I missed it!

Gosh, wouldn't that be a fire hazard? To call a room in the basement a bedroom it must have an egress window. I bet it doesn't pass inspection.

You wake up and the clock says 10:00. You have no idea if that is day or night. You wonder if you came home from work and fell asleep in the morning or just woke up from a nap and must report to work in a few hours.

...when you fantasize about people who only ever work day shift being told that they MUST be present at a staff meeting/inservice/whatever. At precisely...3 AM.

Fresh out of nsg school I had a NM who would have her staff mtgs at 0730, 1530, and 2200. Now THAT, we could live with. She was a great NM.

...you get today and tomorrow confused.
When you hold cogent, pleasant phone conversations with numbnuts who call you at noon and later have absolutely no recollection of speaking with them.......
I do that all the time, except I'm never coherent!

When you actually manage to fall asleep at a relatively normal hour on your night off, but wake up at 0200 cause it's "lunch" time and your stomach is growling.

Hey I was wondering about that do u get paid for an extra hour or does it even out because later on in spring the clocks go forward???
I worked an extra on time change night once in my 2nd or 3rd year of nursing. It was a pediatric ED on Halloween night, on a Saturday, fun for everyone. When I got my pay they didn't give me the extra hour because "that's just how we do it here." I have rarely been so angry. That was back when I still believed that management wanted to treat us fairly. Today I wouldn't even feel surprised.
