I have today off and was looking forward to a nice relaxing day at home. I was going to start to clean and pack things up for the Goodwill. Well the all went down the tubes when my sewer line off flowed and you know how hard it is to get anyone to come and look at anything for you. I am tired of thinking I am finally getting a head just to have something happened and knock you right back down.

I am generally one of those people who always look for the bright side but today I am just not seeing it, I am tearful, which is not in my character.

I am grateful I have a job in these difficulty econmoic times but I have watched my 401 K go low and now wonder how I will ever retire, I think we can kiss Social Security good bye.

I am grateful I own my home at least there is no mortgage.

I am grateful my spouse has a job...at least for now when there are so many businessess and factories that have gone under.

I am grateful we have health insurance when so many do not. and I am grateful I am healthy when I see so much illness and sadnes each day.

So I guess the only thing for me to do today is tie the knot and hang on and hope when my repair man comes things are not as dismal as I fear they are.

At any rate, I feel a little better now that I have put mygrateful list up and my negative list is smaller.

Thank you all for listening.

you have my sympathies!

i had my sewer line back up into my basement one time. i went downstairs to throw a load of clothes into the washer and found about two feet of water, and brown chunks floating around. my first thought was "boy, that dog food swells up when it gets wet." then the smell hit me. uh-oh!

i hope your day improves!

I can't imagine a more horrible start to the day. I hope your plumber fixes things quickly and well, and your washing machine is up for some nonstop working. Big hug.

I had that experience upon moving into my newly constructed home. As I drew a bath, planning to relax finally after the moving day's exertion. Then I noticed feces in the water........somehow a cloth was in a large pipe, blocking its function. Even after the clean up I never bathed in that tub, which was made of tile with jets, in the ensuite master bathroom!

The subject of your post for this thread, is contradicted by your mention of tying a knot. I may be wrong, but depression seems to be a problem for you, reading between the lines. If that is true, please see a physician to get antidepressant therapy immediately. That is a problem for me, so I may be putting my own situation, which has been relieved, into yours.

Please accept my wishes for better times for you.

Thank you all , my line is temporarily fixed and as soon as spring thaw I will have it replaced. I don't think I am depressed chronically but like everyone else I have my days and today was just one of them. However, I am going in for a check up soon and will see what my MD thinks>

I tend to feel that way when VERY tired, lots of "catch up" sleep usually helps and at least to me, reading a couple of jokes, or thinking of something funny.

Rather then see a Dr, take a vacation. Some sea, sand, and Sun mixed with a nice rum drink will make you feel so much better.

Oh my, I'm so sorry. If it makes you feel any better my septic system failed and backed up into my basement the night before my graduation. I was already feeling very down because both of my parents died and were not with me to experience a family first (nobody went to college from either my mother or father's side). Well, I was set to give up on going altogether. My wonderful husband booked us a hotel room so that I would have a place to shower and change before the ceremony and he forced me to go. I was so emotional the whole way through but I'm glad I went. As soon as I crossed the stage I had to ditch the rest of the ceremony so that we could rush home to meet the pooper-scooper guy and get the bad news! Ahhhh, memories are made of this! My thoughts are with you. Be kind to yourself.

Alcohol could bring a depressed person further down. Not advisable. Prevention is the name of the game, "Iam46 yearsold". If everyone lost their worries after their vacations, you'd be right, but overwhelming evidence doesn't support that theory - Natalie Wood being one case in point. :crying2:
