...................................................The world is a scarey place. From the little 5 year old to the kitten. I can't understand how anyone can hurt any living thing especially such defensless little ones. My heart goes out to this little girl and her family, to animals treated so inhumanely, to other children, adults etc who have been treated this way. We all have to be like the woman who risked her hands being burned by grabbing the kitten off the grill. We also need to help watch out for other peoples children and loved ones like we'd want our own treated.

Amen, nursecheryl! :)

I think this makes all nurses look bad! Pretty soon our patients are not gonna want to come to the hospitals when they are sick out of fear. to make it so bad I did some research and this is not the only nurse to kill patients. There was a man that was a LPN at this hospital in Indiana and he killed like 200+ patients... his reasons- he said he wanted to see what it felt like to play God!!!

There are alot of sick and evil people in this world.

sad, but ture.

Ummm....

I must be totally out of the loop here 'cause my azz is in front of Fox News damn mear 6 hours out of the day & I haven't a clue as to what you all are referring. Shades of Andrea Yates? (who was a nurses, BTW). On a side note, that ***** shoulda got the 'ol needle

I haven't visited this site for a while and I'm appalled at the 'tone' of the posts I've been reading. I thought this was a 'nursing BB'. People are talking about families interferring with their care....how can families NOT have an opinion about their loved ones? People talking about 'blowing away' those in the news who have committed crimes. Isn't that for the judicial system to deal with? I keep seeing more and more hate and hostility on this BB and others I read. It's really frightening! What happened to an honest exchange of ideas and solutions? Isn't this, after all, for nurses who are the nurtures? Anyway, that's my opinion.

I think ...well I think someone bedbound and vegetative is suffering and have no problem with letting them go. But I don't think it is solely my place to decide and implement the action. I think anyone that takes it upon themselves to do the deed lacks humility and respect for the lives of his/her patients and the families feelings. Because no matter what the condition of the patient nothing makes that nurse's decision more important or morally stronger. Unfortunately he/she does have more power- and abuse of that power should mean prosecution and punishment.

There are many threads on this BB with honest exchanges of ideas and solutions, at least that's my opinion. :)

I agree with Marie. We all need to vent but that doesn't mean we are evil-just honest. I personally don't relish the thought that people who commit these awful crimes are allowed to live better than a lot of 'normal' people.

The nurse probably has munchausim by proxy a mental illness.

MBP is normally a parent (moreoften mother) and the psychology behind MBP is that they enjoy the attention gained from having a sick child..

How would this dx fit a nurse killing infants???

No dx needed..the beech is just plain crazy!

No you are wrong there are not alot of sick and evil people in the world. They are a very small minority. They just grab the medias attention. Would you buy a newspaper with the headline" Nurse gives patient injection: patient sleeps peacefully for 8 hours for the first time in 12 days and wakes up relatively pain free" Most people not just nurses either would help someone who was sick or injured, animals too. That is why it is so outrageous to hear these tragic but abberant stories. Its foreign to our collective nature. We are mostly good, kind people, I believe that.
