Sigh... will they ever "get it"?

Article in the Boston Herald dated 2/12/03-Inside Track.

"Smock-Clad Sara Edwards nurses her role on ER"

Keep an eye out for a cheeky blonde RN in a flowered smock on ER tomorrow night. It's none other than 7News entertainment gal Sara Edwards! Here are the two best quotes: "Ugh, I look like I should be scrubbing floors in that smock" said Channel 7's glam gal.... Here's the corker: "I was so jealous that some reporters got to be doctors, the one from LA got to be a victim with blood all over her face, and I look like I should be cleaning toilets".

If you would like to write the "cheeky blonde" a note or two, or let the station manager know how you feel the e mail is:

I will write, but first I will watch the show. Ya know, two weeks ago on ER there was a derogatory remark made about nurses by the character "Lucca." I remembered it when the raucous about Scrubs came about and I wondered why the ANA didn't make a stink about it as well. ER is somewhat more serious than Scrubs just by the nature of it being an hour long drama. I don't remember the exact thing said, but I know there are word for word scripts online somewhere of ER. I'm gonna try and find it and combine my objections with the bimbo reporter's comments.

*sigh* :o

Thanks for the heads up.

Sally: I don't think she said those things in the course of the show...I believe she was commenting about her role.

Any road, it just gets to me sometimes.

:o

I understand. Thanks.

TV will rot your brain.

Gee and to think I thought you were talking about your leg ....or the cha cha.

Saw the episode last night---no blonde stood out. Was an interesting show but ending off kilter.

Lets hope that next time she needs an ER nurse,he/she is not too busy cleaning the toilet to treat her!!!!

why do you guys do this to yourselves? turn off the TV if it bothers ya so much. It won't ever end,you know. Nurses have been the butt of jokes, rude remarks, etc. , despite STRONG protest from high-powered ANA types and 1000s of others since the inception of nursing. It's only Tv. And morons believe all they see on TV...you won't change their minds w/letters of protest any. The power you have is to TURN it off, eventually, the programming won't be supported if we all do. If you REALLY want to impact it all, write the SPONSORS, where all the $$$ comes from. Wishing you all a Happy Valentine's......

Beautiful!

Ladies and gents, it's only TV. Try as hard as you want, you will not change it. I know what I do everyday, the difference I make. I don't need the validation from any other human being, or TV show for that matter.

And btw, I do wear a pair of old scrubs to scrub my toilet and floors. Makes you wonder why they call them scrubs....
