Galen Spring 2021 San Antonio

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Hey Guys! I’m starting the Lvn day program at Galen in San Antonio and was wondering if anyone else will be attending the same program! I’m super terrified and would love to get to know my peers.

I mean some of us don’t have a choice when getting denied at more than one school over and over again, or put on the waitlist for over 6months. Like not everyone has the time to wait LOL each year tuitions are going up longer you wait the more it’ll cost. Just saying. watched tuitions go up at some of these colleges in the last 5 years.

If you're being denied from multiple schools your grades must not be good enough. You may not be able to successfully complete the program.

LOL sorry to burst your bubble but I complete this program in a month with no problem making As and Bs having the crappiest GPA for A&P 1,2. Sadly I’ve met people who are 4.0 GPA make the worst nurses on the floor ??‍♂️

This is a generalization for sure, I'm sure you'd agree that many people with low TEAS and low prereqs struggle in their programs. Congratulations on finishing, best of luck on the NCLEX and in the job hunt.

I stand by avoiding these outrageously expensive programs.

I am currently in the Galen LVN evening program and will be graduating in December. I like that it has been online because it is convenient but price was is ridiculous. Only reason I ended up going here was because I really wanted to just go straight for my RN but I could not pass the TEAS I always missed by one point and was tired of waiting to become a nurse. So I have started off with the LVN thank god for student financial assistance and with student loans we have not had any interest rate the whole time I have been in the program because of COVID. I have had a few instructors that I like but I will not be going back for my RN there. For one I am moving back to DFW area and two I don't want to pay so much for that program. But if it is your only option it is one of the easiest schools to get into. I also made a 98 on the entrance exam for LVN and you need an 83 I believe but with the BSN you need a 101 and I really wanted to do just that but they would not even consider it even though I had all my pre reqs. I would keep calling them we are still not back at campus and it is hard to get ahold of people at times which sucks.

What hours are their evening lvn program?

Sorry y’all, I never logged back in and responded but I graduated from the lvn program March 25th and jumped right into the ADN program. I love Galen but I do realize it’s not for everyone. So grateful I was able to reach my goal.

I’m in Houston and I’m thinking about transitioning to RN at Galen. Any info on the LVN-RN program?

How's the ADN program going? I had dropped out because I was travel nursing but I am currently applying to readmit. I am in DFW and they are opening up over here. I even stopped traveling and obtained a full time job for this.

The RN bridge program has been great, I just ended this quarter and will start my last quarter July 10 and finals in sept, I'm super excited.

My friend Jodi is attending the San Antonio campus there and she's going into her last quarter 07/10. Congrats!

Anyone here bridge LVN to BSN or is it only LVN to RN available?

Anyone graduate from Galen recently (RN or BSN)? Any thoughts on your experience with the program?
