What are some of the funniest names that you guys and gals have seen at work? I'll start

Twins : Roderrick and Roderricka,

Twins : Autumn and Fall

Girl : Asshole (A-sole-lee)

P.s. This thread is just for fun.....

Specializes in NICU.
I have a new one to add . . . Just an average family, middle class. . .

Little boy they named "Sparrow"

Ew, dude. I hope they saved up money for the self-defense classes the poor little guy is going to need.

Or wait... like... Jack Sparrow? That guy wasn't meant to be a role model, people.

We've had a bunch of Ellis and Addisons.

I am noticing a trend towards putting two names together as one first name.

Lilynicole

Aubriannelise

Lilyanna

Devonshane

Ew.

(No offense to anyone with these names.)

I knew a kid once named L.B. What's that stand for? Nothing, that's his actual name. The family, however, called him Junebug.

A hospital across the street from ours had a lady who names her kids;

Orangejello (Or-on-juh-low)

Lemonjello (Luh-mon-juh-low)

Sh!Thead *spelling changed (Shuh-Theed)

Not true- it's an urban legend-

...deeply engrained in NICU tradition....

Specializes in NICU Level III.

I need to start keeping track of names on my unit..

We had twins - Victoria and Victorious..

and a female singleton - Monserrat. I think those win right now.

Specializes in Community, OB, Nursery.

Monserrat is a fairly common Hispanic name.

This is a little late. But I saw all the names... And I checked the snopes list too. But i worked as a nanny while going to school in Pittsburgh. She had twin boys were born at 28 weeks. She spent alot of time in NICU obviously. She actually took a picture of the names of these twin boys in the NICU with them. And they were Lemonjello and Orangejello (they were spelled different but they were pronounced that way). I have seen the picture and I wish I knew how to get in contact with them again to show to people!!! Its not just a myth or folklore. There are 2 (hopefully?? I dunno if they survived they were smaller than her boys) boys out there in Pittsburgh named that.

Specializes in NICU.

That's how urban legends stay alive. Everyone knows someone who knew someone who saw someone that...fill in the blank. Usually, they sound like very reliable sources, and plausible stories.

If you, personally, had known someone with that name, I'd come closer to buying it.

I have a few...

When I was pregnant with my Daughter, my dh and I would argue over names. He wanted to name her Honor, Nineveah, Azure, Aja, and Khalan.

We argued. We finally settled on Kaylyn Michele.

My BFF named her daughters Dusti Rose & Stevie Raquel (she was a big Stevie Ray fan and she will call her daughter Stevie Ray)

My brother in law and sister in law named there son Ethan Allen.. not very original.

I also work with a woman named Salequa....old Indian name apparently.

I don't knwo anyone by this name nor have I ever heard it, but thought it would be cute if someone did name there kid this. (i'm sure someone has somewhere) Marshall Law.

Specializes in Neonatal.

Twins - Frederick and Fredericka...seriously.

these aren't even from a unit, just from people i have met personally --
