FSU Accelerated BSN Spring 2010

Published

Anyone else applying for FSU's Accelerated BSN program starting Spring 2010?

no a B should't prevent you from getting into the program! especially if it's patho - that's a hard class!!

good luck to you!

To the people who got in this year (that is, just started a month ago), what were your overall GPAs?

I'm not sure what my overall GPA was (probably around a 3.7ish including my prerequisites), but my GPA in just my prerequisites was about a 3.85. I took about half of my prereqs when I was getting my first BS, and that was a while ago. I think I had a B and maybe an A- in a couple of them. I made all A's in the prereqs I took over the past couple of years, and I think they take that into account even if you didn't do as well while you were in college the first time around.

I don't know what other people's GPAs are; it's not something we've really discussed. We have quite a diverse class age-wise; from brand-new graduates up to late 40s. Grades are not the only thing they look at; they also take work and life experience into account.

Good luck!

Do any of you know of a Pathophysiology Online Course that can be taken that FSU accepts? I am hoping to apply to the Accelerated Program this Fall for Spring 2012. Thank you.

Butler Community College offers an online Patho class. I spoke with a counselor at FSU and they said it is accepted from this school. http://www.butlercc.edu/

Wow, I wish I had applied to Florida State's ABSN. :( My brother graduated from FSU and I loved going to visit him and absolutely fell in love with Tallahassee. I see that somebody said for the class of 2010 there were only 42 applicants?! Wow, wish I had known about it and looked into it...might have had a good chance! I am in an ABSN program in my home state now and sadly, didn't shop around too much for schools out of state. Anyway, just wanted to say congrats to all of you who graduated from or are in the ABSN program at FSU! I'm jealous! Maybe I'll look into FSU for grad school, hehe. ;)

This might sound silly. But do you know if I will have to register as a regular student at Butler college

or I only need to register for the class as a non degree seeking? Kind of don't know my way through that website.

Thanks

Any suggestion on the professor of choice, saw like three different options.

Anyone trying to get into the Spring 2012 ABSN at FSU? I only have a few classes left including the Patho class that I will be taking online this summer from Butler as well.

I would think you would choose non-degree seeking since you are only taking Patho online. That's what I am going to put.

Have you registered yet? I have to wait til tomorrow b/c the online registration & admission isn't up until 8am.

Thank you for your response. That's what I thought. I have not registered yet though because the website is still not allowing us to do that. May be by noon today, hopefully they would have resolved the issue.

Chrisabby2- are you planning on applying for Spring 2012?

I just called and they said it should be up and running within the next 30 minutes or so. I sure hope so, b/c I need to register and get it taken care of. Have you heard if this particular Patho is hard? I have read that others were, but thought they were talking about the class on campus at FSU.

Are you planning on applying in Sept for next Spring?
